      Technical Professionals should be very wary of working here

      Good industry contacts - both government and private

      Cons

      Where do I start: 1) Ownership/management is the founder's family and the corporate rules set for employees do not extend to the family members who are also employed by the business; 2) Lack of support for continuing education and technical growth (they do have a policy, but the decisions are made by non-technical staff/managers who have no understanding of staying abreast with the constantly changing world of technology and innovation); 3) Non technical staff managing technical staff and making technical decisions irrespective of technical staff's knowledge and experience.

      The pay is comparable to others in the industry.

      Cons

      Lots of dysfunction. Focus is more on saying the right things over doing them. CEO cares more about loyalty to him rather loyalty to the mission or customer. Leadership seems to be a revolving door. In-fighting is rampant.

      Great lunch room and open space.

      Cons

      This company is more concerned with their image than they are in supporting, hiring and retaining top talent. Would rather work for a company that goes to bat for their people than work for a company that worries about its perceived image, contract status and future business opportunities.

They focus not just on the employees’ immediate tasks but on their longer-term career goals and aspirations, as well as the overall health of our organization. That includes worrying about future business opportunities, the bread and butter of any small business, or any sized business for that matter. We owe it to our company and our employees to position ourselves for success there.
