Zero worklife balance

Pros

Great coworkers, free lunch, casual work attire

Cons

Worklife balance, lack of communication, lack of leadership, poor accountability. Upper leadership work crazy hours and has created an expectation that you should be working those crazy hours with them. They paint an awesome picture when you first start but it soon gets toxic when you are given unrealistic goals and are coached on time management when workload is uneven. Certain roles need additional man power while others need more structure. You’ll soon realize that they give the high performers an excessive workload while others have free time to do nothing while on the clock.

Pros

Interacting with fellow coaches is always a fun time. Direct supervisors were very reliable and open. If you gain something from working with students, it can definitely be a rewarding experience.

Cons

No real areas for career advancement/growth. Upper management teeters on incompetence when it comes to transparency and communication. Changes in job structure cap you out as a coach.

Pros

I loved working at Urban Initiaves, I loved the mission and the people.

Cons

When I worked here there were some discrepancies in pay between direct service employees and office based employees. I believe theyve improved since then.
