Pros

Screenings, access to amazing events, travel opportunities, nice offices. Some teams have very nice management

Cons

Experience very dependent on team. Some teams have an issue with culture / treatment of junior members. Very hierarchical, not particularly competitive pay.

Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Great health benefits and nice perks, like movie t-shirts.

Cons

Working for Universal Pictures is like working for an abusive significant other. They keep promising you that they won't do it again and you keep believing them. The department heads are TOXIC. They do not care about growth, advancements in tech, people, etc. They will belittle their staff in front of others. They will lie straight to your face. They will throw you under the bus to save their own behind. They will tell you that you are crazy and exaggerating what really happened when you rationally discuss your concerns with them. They do not value hard work. They blatantly play favorites. They will falsify Timekeeper and HR will do NOTHING about any of it.

Pros

High quality projects, good facilities, dedicated colleagues willing to put in the hours

Cons

Hours are 20%+ longer than other studios/networks, yet compensation significantly less. Lives up to reputation as a bit of a sweatshop with high turnover. Plan on starting salary + 3% annually regardless of assurances otherwise.
