Pros

That you will someday work someplace else that will undoubtedly be far superior in every conceivable way.

Cons

Insane stress and extremely toxic leadership. Frightened bootlicking workaholics, insufferably drinking company cool-aid while their souls are sucked from their body. Fear culture created by the CEO who constantly screams like a toddler. Nobody likes their job but everyone pretends to until you get to know them closely enough that they trust you with the truth. Secret spy groups of trusted individuals that are sent in to gain your trust with the hopes of tattling on you to upper management. All the good reviews here are written by HR who then responds to them to give the appearance ambiguity amongst reviewers. Just look at the other reviews and ask yourself why there are so many one star reviews and then five star reviews. It’s obvious. Don’t work here, it will be one of the absolute worst experiences of your life. I guarantee it.

Pros

Cool swag and executive team has a clear direction/mission of where they want to take the company however, products are faulty. Lots of quality issues under the hood.

Cons

If you enjoy working in an environment that promotes backstabbing, gossiping, and bullying then this place is for you. The people here act like they’re still in high school: forming cliques and icing out people who they deem aren’t “cool”. This culture was created and propagated from the top down. Some other reviewers mention that this place pays well. It actually doesn’t. Compared to the industry average, this place pays 20% less. Benefits are also zilch. No 401k setup, let alone matching. Vacation and or PTO? Nope. They claim to have unlimited vacation but what that really means is that you’re constantly working and they can contact you anytime.

Pros

Cool product ideas focused on an emerging market. Great swag including t-shirts and outerwear.

Cons

Despite having cool products, there is a massive disconnect between senior management and everyone beneath. Timelines are unrealistic, product development resources are stretched increasingly thin, and budget is lacking. This hampers the development process and causes morale to plummet. Unchained Labs is very quick to fire and trim anyone they deem excess without regards to what that can do to teams, resources, and morale. This leads to a huge gap in knowledge as many newer individuals require training, which, existing employees do not have time to deal with or they risk missing existing project deadlines. Favoritism also reins high as it becomes evident it’s about people’s perception of you versus the actual work you perform. As another reviewer stated, employee benefits are also poor including no 401K matching.
