      corporate politics casts dark shadow on otherwise good company

      Pros

      This firm provides steady work in a good market with mostly great people who have strong ethical values and keep to them.

      Cons

      You need to be with the "in crowd" to make a career here, otherwise just view this place as a stepping stone. Pay is slightly below market.

      Good place to work, but very conservative culture

      Pros

      -Competitive pay -Good benefits -Excellent work/life balance -Relaxed environment for the most part -Reliable job prospect in the long run Good place to work, especially for someone who is a family person and prioritizes/values family time. The company has a very conservative culture which can be good or bad depending on person's values and priorities.

      Cons

      -Not much upward movement opportunities available. -Very static work environment. Very narrow scope of work - Provides very little training for the job, hence results in a very slow paced learning experience. - Lacks on team work. All of the departments are so fragmented from each other Culture is old, but changing in a slow pace. Complete loyalty, as well as "All American/wholesome" attitude are required to move up. Company should work to provide more dynamic work environment for their new engineers to prepare well rounded professionals/leaders.

      Pros

      Strong motivation and involvement from peers to learn about the unique systems the company specializes in. Inter-department meetings and collaborating with other departments was encouraged.

      Cons

      Workload can get heavy at times, but usually this last no more than a week or two. No working remotely/from home. Work trips were about once every two months, trips usually lasting a full week.
