Pros

1) As HR says, "Be happy you have a job!" 2) Florida 3) Reasonable salary at hire 4) No one ever got fired for making a mistake 5) A nice group of people, for the most part

Cons

1) Currently making employees re-apply for their jobs. A woman who's been there 35 years apparently was unqualified for her own position, so she was fired. 2) Florida 3) Salary likely to remain at that original level for the forseeable future: no raises for 2 years 4) Very few mistakes made because very few people ever have to make a decision 5) Don't get too close to anyone because they won't be there tomorrow

Pros

I worked for Tyco just short of 10 yrs. during that time, there was A LOT of change! In 2007 Tyco split into 3 separate companies. 2010 ADT/Tyco bought its largest competitor. 2011/12, Tyco sold off the Residental arm of ADT. 2012 announced the consolidation of 4 of its remaining companies to the corporate level. 2013 moved the corporate HQ from Princeton, NJ to Switzerland. 2014 moved the corporate HQ from Switzerland to Ireland. Luckily I was able to work on all of those projects and build a solid resume. But it wasn't easy by any means.

Cons

There is no such thing as work life balance if you are above an analyst. People are always in fear of layoffs. I would be up on conference calls at 6am. In the office by 9, leave at 6, count the minutes until my kids went to bed at 8 so I could rush to be back online working until at least 1 am with a lot of nights ending at 3 am and pulled "all nighters" at least 2 times a month. Everything is a fire drill. And for working on all of the special projects you receive no compensation at all and told that you're a lucky still to be employed.
