Pros

There aren't many pros to working here besides the fact that the scheduling can be flexible. Since you aren't really an asset when you are an operations associate, no one cares that much about being there often. A good thing is that it is easily accessible by BART, that is about all I can think of.

Cons

This place is the literal definition of a sweatshop. It's in a dirty dusty warehouse, where you are standing/walking on cement for 8 hours a day. They design the place in a very specific and meticulous way so that it is as efficient as possible to make the upper management/CEO/etc. rich. Socializing is discouraged, and they set up the workstations in a manner where no one can really see each other/face each other. Most of the time, people aren't talking to each other and just stuck in their ear buds, hoping that whatever music they are listening to can take them away from the mind-numbing work that they are doing. The daily tasks are the most monotonous types of tasks that you can think of. Folding and sealing clothing into plastic bags (for hours), grabbing an invoice and then pulling the order off the shelf, or steaming clothing in the dark outskirts of the warehouse. You are timed for every single task you can do, and the only way you can achieve their time standard is by not socializing with anyone, not taking any breaks, and moving as quickly as possible. The management is constantly scolding people like they are 4 year old children. From the moment you walk in and they "take roll", you feel like you are in elementary school again. If you are caught "chattering too much" with other employees they call you out and scold you. The operations supervisors, who are previous operations associates who thought they could escape the hell of that life, revel in their tiny shred of power that they have and seem to be brainwashed into thinking the job does not suck anymore. The management, engineers, and CEO work on top of the operations associates in full view of them. From the bottom working as an operations associate, you can literally see their side of the warehouse and how much nicer it is. On mornings you can smell the nice food that they bring up there for all of them while everyone else is stuck at the bottom chipping away at their workstations. STAY AWAY. Don't fall into the trap of easy and brainless work, because it will suck the soul out of you. You will feel like a sweatshop slave and like you are in the real life "Office Space" dealing with the management.

Pros

Centrally located in the Mission. Easy to get hired, and easy to quit.

Cons

Is this the depressing future of retail? Employees are stuffed into a disgusting warehouse, working nonstop for long hours. Operations staff get zero respect from their superiors. It's a degrading and sad atmosphere. I could say more, but most of the issues have been covered in other reviews. The dynamic between the young managers and equally young operations team reminds me a lot of the Stanford prison experiment. This was a famous psychological experiment where a group of students were randomly divided into groups of "prisoners" and "guards". The guards, though no different from the prisoners in real life, ended up adapting to their roles surprisingly well, taking drastic authoritarian measures against the prisoners, harassing and torturing them. This story will sound familiar to any Twice employee. In some parallel universe, this could be a cool job. I thought it would be when I first started. It was a huge letdown. I'm still angry about the way I was treated here. I felt really violated.

Pros

It's very easy to get hired. If you want to work a lot, they will give you as many hours as you want. They will "let" you work 12 hour days if you want.

Cons

Do you like being talked down to by inexperienced, incompetent managers who are just barely out of high school? How about standing on cement floors for 8 to 12 hours at a time, not being allowed to move from your station, talk, or drink water while you're working? Like having everything you do timed, including your bathroom breaks? This job is for you! Twice has set up a caste system between management/office staff and operations staff. The whole environment is very dystopian, like something out of 1984. Employees are positioned at stations where they do the same repetitive tasks all day long. Employees are not allowed to SIT, TALK, or DRINK WATER. The management and office staff work on an open mezzanine that is literally above all the workers, where it can be plainly seen how much more comfortable they are. Workers down below can smell the yummy food they have upstairs in their fully stocked kitchen, can hear them laughing and talking with each other, or singing someone happy birthday and sharing ice cream. Sounds fun guys! That must be great! But down below, workers are scolded when they are caught talking, or doing anything that might distract them from their very important work. Managers are condescending at best, and cruel at worst. Most of them are very young and don't really know how to manage employees. I am not sure why it is such a part of Twice culture to treat operations staff like worthless minions. They are also really big on surveillance. They monitor everything employees do, and I mean everything. Even your breaks are timed down to the second. The only real motivation to meet the strict time standards they have set for each task is boredom. The work is very, very boring and repetitive. But managers don't care, they don't seem to be in touch with the suffering of the operations staff, even though a lot of them came from the operations staff. It's like the second they get promoted, they become part of this brainwashed cult. I think it's a survival mechanism. A fellow employee was once accused by management of sniffing pens at work. Sniffing pens??!?! Is this elementary school?? This particular employee was singled out over and over, because once it's decided you're a "bad" employee, they really make sure you know. I saw this employee chided by managers and scolded constantly for all kinds of things. Once he was caught working while sitting in a chair (gasp!). Naturally the chair was taken away. Also... what's with that craigslist ad that says they offer employees "tasty snacks"??? Want to know what the tasty snacks are? It's a canister of raw almonds in the break room. It's like they chose the least appealing snack possible, in order to cut down on employee snacking. There are definitely no tasty snacks here. In addition to that, employees are banned from drinking water on the warehouse floor. Yes, that's right, no water. The official rule is that you can drink water out of a water bottle with a sealable top. However, water bottles are not provided. If you don't bring a water bottle with you one day, too bad! No water for you! Meanwhile, the managers are singing happy birthday and eating ice cream upstairs..... Stay away. Don't work at Twice. If you currently work there, quit. Or at the very least, organize a strike.
