Pros

Some good people there but poorly managed and organized. County wide jurisdiction is nice and aids in off duty work.

Cons

Always changing schedule. If you do anything they don't like you will end up back working in the jail. If you come in as a Deputy you will have to work the jail for 3 yrs then work at court security for 2 more yrs regardless of what you hear. If you come in as a Detention Officer you will not be a Deputy for 3 plus years. Then you will not go to CLEET for training until 1 year after you move to Deputy. Middle management needs some work. New ideas are not respected or used so do not bother. Very strong nepotism within organization. Promotions are based on this. Fleet needs updating. Not enough cars or Tasers for all Deputies. Strong need for post employment exit interviews. None done by HR.
