Pay was lower compared to other accounting roles (roughly 5k to 10k), and I was aware that certain teams made more than others at the same level of experience (eg. shared vs corporate). This was primarily the reason I left, as I felt my experience and amount of work I was doing did not match my salary. Management was constantly trying to cut costs and implement changes which were never clearly explained or seemed to be rushed which led to more work sometimes. I feel this could’ve been avoided if these automation projects were planned further in advanced and given more realistic timelines to accommodate teams that would need to hire more staff. Upper management never bothered to connect with the staff accountants which also was frustrating since they never knew what was going on at the bottom level before implementing changes. Some of these changes led to stressful months for me as my workload constantly fluctuated during my time there and I believe was a driving factor in the high turnover there. There was a clique in the office, but it wasn’t overly noticeable as there were a lot of supportive and friendly people that evened it out.

Management can be rude and not listen unless taken to HR

Training is nada, nothing. The manager is the laziest person known to man! No respect is given at all or acknowledged. Heaven forbid if you go over your time by few minutes. If I could give no stars it would be no star!!!! Complain to HR? That's a joke, falls on deaf ears and nothing is done from no disciplinary action to letting them go. Management thinks it's beyond them to do work and the manager complains about everything, every chance she gets. Tell her to STOP hiring her own family!!!!!!!!! She acts like she NEVER has worked in this field before...WAIT - she never has but here we are!

Management was not very welcoming

There’s a reason for constant job adds online for accounting roles. I’ve never seen so much turnover at a company. There is no support from management, there is no job training, they have a very backhanded management style and will write you up when something goes wrong instead of having a discussion with you first about expectations.
