Pros

Flexible schedule...... Sometimes... and you get to open an MCU ACCOUNT weekly pay

Cons

if you're a part time worker good luck trying to make ends meat if the staff dont like you or if you are a "NEW HIRE"... Work moral is very low... the worst staff possible... they bring their problems from home to work.... ghetto attitudes... the dispatchers can get real rude and nasty at times and dont care for you or nothing else at all.. as long as they dont get a "SNS".... forget about an actual break as when you can stop and get something to eat or just even use the bathroom... the buses are worn down and out dated... the "NEW HIRES" GETS THE WORST OF THE WORST"...good way to make your new employees want to stay!! if you go full time.. FORGET ABOUT HAVING A LIFE!... and keep count of your hours and the hours you've been on standby.. they will rob you if you don't!... BENFITS SUCKS!!.... 401K PLAN AS WELL.... for all the paper work you have to do and keep up with the companies money... they should start you off with $15 per hr.. drivers have so much responsibilities... god forbid if you get into an accident especially NEW HIRES MTA HAVES NO REMORSE OR PITY WHAT SO EVER... the cancellations of your route can cause you to come up short on your check for the week.. that's not good at all... you can blame dispatchers for that as well... if your headed to the base.. be prepared to see extra trips pop up out of nowhere even if your almost at the base they can hold you past your shift meaning drivers can be worked 10 hrs straight!!...

Pros

- People that i work with are generally nice people who do care about their job and their bedside manner - Overtime is pretty accessible - More freedom on the road than other Ems agencies (e.g. Break times) and you don't feel too burnt out

Cons

- Bad communication between management - Multiple Supervisors and bosses who don't seem to know their exact roles and what is expected of them - Favoritism - Dispatchers do not generally have Ems backgrounds so poorly arrange Medical transports which end up being cancelled or bounced due to lack of Medical necessity for Ambulance, resulting in the company losing money - Pay is not appropriate

Pros

They give you the opportunity to work even if you just received your Tech card. SOME friendly people in the company.

Cons

You now have to buy your own uniform because Myself and the three orientations class before mine still haven't received them, so they leave you to your own demise. Favoritism and bribery will get you things you need like days off and new schedules. No one cares if people call to compliment you or give a commendation. You'll only hear about it if its bad. Mount Vernon base has some of the worst equipment.
