Pros

I made some good friendships (all who have quit)

Cons

-Lack of respect for employees under Management -Lack of management skills all together -Petty work environment -They don't give raises, just "promotional raises" that are ultimately "cost of living raises" that's basically potato money -No career growth or work-life balance (even though it's encouraged)

Pros

Pleasant colleagues, travel industry experience and travel opportunities after 1 year.

Cons

The turnover was extremely high across numerous departments, great professionals were treated poorly if they ever spoke up and challenged upper management on anything, individuals were also treated poorly by upper management in front of their colleagues, and unnecessary stress was visible. Certain departments clearly preferred to hire friends of friends, pushing away people who had devoted years of service. This was an unhealthy workplace, where you could not bring your own knowledge forward and only favoritism allowed people to grow. In all the departments you are expected to execute and nod, making sure the management team hears what they want to hear not what they should hear.

Fascinating company with alarming flaws

Pros

- A very interesting business with a rich experience and many passionate people. - Building a winning business is a challenge, given that tours are a struggling model - but an interesting one. - plenty of opportunities to really positively impact the business, if you can get the change through, as still much that is archaic. - some very nice people to work with

Cons

- The company's biggest issue is the lack of a coherent culture. As one of the Tollman businesses, it is run top down and secretive and this leads to a very siloed business - by function and region. - CEO can be visionary, adaptable and charismatic. At the same time, likes a 'yes' man/woman, is autocratic, does not take responsibility for his own mistakes and is extraordinarily prone to changing his mind. - Alarming serial bullying that has been/is taking place in the HQ office. - Awful IT systems and IT department centralised as part of the Travel Corporation makes technology a serious challenge to doing business.
