Pros

There are great people working here, Benefits are good, and the office location is awesome.

Cons

If you read some of the reviews below you may get the idea already, also understand that Trader has many departments, some that may be okay to work in. This review is coming from the inside sales team specifically. None of the other negative reviews I have read were untrue in any fashion, this used to be an excellent place to work. With recent changes, the company has started to completely disregard their employees, our opinion no longer matters, our sales no longer matter and it has been made clear that we're easily replaceable. In fact, some employees that have been working for the company for many years and have worked hard to build their clientele had those taken from them with little notice. In no other workplace that I have experienced has it been acceptable to arbitrarily make up metrics to meet and change someone's position so extrmeley that they are now earning just a fraction of what they used to (not an exaggeration). Managers are uncomfortable communicating and will avoid the subject at any cost or even lie because some can't handle the confrontation. You can be told for months that an opportunity for change is coming up but it will not happen. The current management operates largely using favoritism and they do not care about the actual work attitude or results, I speculate this is because they are so out of touch with their employees. But I have learned that it will not get better, look for opportunities elsewhere, this company does not want you to grow, if you earn too much for their liking you might just have a different pay structure next week, and good luck trying to pay your bills then!

I’m truly sorry to hear that your current experience is negative and even more saddened to hear that you feel as though you can’t express your concerns with your managers or HR. We’ve worked hard to cultivate a positive culture where our employees feel valued and are able to thrive and grow in their careers and it seems we’ve missed the mark in this instance. I, personally, would love to sit down and chat with you to discuss your current situation and see if we can work together towards a more favorable outcome. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to reach out to HR or our CEO who is always available to discuss concerns.

Pros

None after the most recent pay cut.

Cons

3 pay cuts in 5 years. When owned by Dominion they cared about the employees. Goldman Sacks and our management only cares for themselves now. Enery outside sales reps earnings are being cut as much as 60% of what they earned in 2019. For 3 out of 5 years the outside and inside sales force have had a cut in income. This company is so financially unstable with regards to what it pays the sales reps, I cannot recommend it to anyone that wants to build a career with Trader Interactive.

Pros

- Great Downtown Norfolk location. Very Central to all 7 cities. - Very nice office space and building. - Great work/life balance -Ample vacation time

Cons

I've been with the company for almost 4 years and have yet to see any upward mobility. My supervisor has continually promised things in my almost four years and none of it has come to fruition. I've even tried to move outside of my department into a new role, but received little to no support from my supervisor all of which baffles me because in my one performance review in my 4 years I received good marks. I feel like I'm just turning my wheels here and being lied to continually. As an employee in good standing I wish that I didn't feel this way and didn't have to write anything negative. But at some point when you feel defeated you have to say something without the feeling of being judged.

I appreciate the balanced review , and would like to help. It's unfortunate that you feel you haven't been provided growth opportunities, and please consider talking with the HR team about how we can help you and your manager map out a clear plan. Every employee should feel that he or she has room to build an outstanding career at Trader, and every leader in our org should be helping to cultivate that feeling among employees on a daily basis.
