Pros

-The lower/mid-level people are some of the best co-workers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. -Fun opportunity to work on small to big-name mobile games. -An interesting business model with a diverse portfolio of games to work on. -Unlimited vacation policy (depending on your manager/director). -Flexible work schedule that helps out with sometimes long commutes in NYC. -Extremely talented people across multiple teams. -Diverse office with all different types of languages being spoken. -Cool Midtown location that's centrally located for an easy to commute. -Stocked kitchen with different types of snack and drinks.

Cons

-Extremely low compensation across most teams. It is hard enough to live in NYC, and its borderline impossible to do so at Tilting Point. -There is an extremely biased feel to hiring and most of the upper-level employees are friends or old co-workers that have been brought in. -Tilting Point would rather hire unqualified "upper-level" employees than promote within. This is mind-boggling as there are some brilliant people at this company. -Promotions and raise are rare and small when it comes to the salary increase. -HR is basically nonexistent. I do not feel comfortable bringing up my concerns as I do not believe HR will keep them confidential and upper management will be told. -Questionable hires over the past few months. There have been some high-level individuals hired that are clearly not qualified but will continue to be compensated at a high level. -I do not believe I have a clearly defined career path here will little to no ongoing training/learning. -Tilting Point has stopped giving out equity so there is little to no reason to stay in hopes of selling. -Money hungry upper management that is happy to give themselves raises, bonuses, equity while telling lower level employees there is no room from raises or salary increases. -Some questionable ethical choices from upper management.

Thank you for your review. All feedback is sincerely considered. At Tilting Point, we rely on researched market data in combination with best practices to set compensation, including equity grants, individually. We strongly encourage any employee who has questions about compensation or advancement to speak openly with us. While it is common for small companies to start out by hiring via network referrals and connections, Tilting Point has maintained thorough and consistent vetting policies for all candidates for every role, plus internal processes for evaluating advancement or discipline. We are proud of our numerous employees from diverse recruitment sources and backgrounds who have grown their careers at Tilting Point since we were founded. Employees are strongly encouraged to speak with their manager or directly to management if they have any questions or concerns on these processes or their career path, as this is a vital part of the employee experience that we are committed to preserving with utmost integrity. We appreciate the feedback on the HR team. Employees should know that circumstances may happen in which HR (or managers, who are extensions of HR), may be bound to report to management on certain issues, in order to resolve them. HR’s duty in any environment is to collaborate with its executive team to resolve issues brought to bear. HR’s protocol at Tilting Point is also to be transparent with employees when management inclusion is anticipated. Again, we strongly encourage all employees take advantage of our open door policy with leadership as well as with their managers . Our goal is an open dialogue with all team members to create the best employment experience possible.

Amazing Company with Talented Employees

Pros

I have worked in the gaming industry for many years, and with different studios, but I have yet to come across a team of such talented people who believe in what they do and have such passion that inspires creativity and big ideas. The company pushes you hard and experts great things from everyone, but they do a lot to reward you with after work team gatherings, a lunch room with all types of snacks and drinks, unlimited time off and dinner provided to those that need to work late hours. Tilting Point has a bright future with top talent, amazing projects, and leadership who strives for quality over quantity and who believes in letting the talent they hire to do the jobs they were hired to do. Everyone is very hands-on, we succeed together or fail together!

Cons

No training budget set up for employees, I understand why this is and that the company is currently working on fixing this.

Pros

Great entry-level people, a good place to start your career, very cool projects to work on and nice office

Cons

toxic masculinity, nepotism, and favoritism runs rampant within leadership -- lots of inappropriate behavior and comments. There seems to be little regard or value for entry-level and middle management - Director and above leadership feels like an exclusive club or dictatorship. Many feel unbelievably uncomfortable at work and feel they have no where to safely take their thoughts, feelings or concerns. If you can find a different place to work in mobile, i would
