Pros

- Macbook Pro - insurtech insights - above average starting salary (factors: good negotiator/age/experience/certs) - constantly wide exploration RnD on Cutting Edge technology (Startup Environment) - Medical insurance - Flexi working hour 8am-10am ~ 5pm-7pm - foreign worker visa is provided (including family) - every month end birthday month's employee will need to bring some food to office to celebrate with the company - friendly colleagues - Free annual Christmas dinner. Other festivals are not celebrated officially. Internal staff celebrate at own cost. - coffee machine

Cons

- Strictly speaking, "13th-month bonus" clause is variable compensation, company can always declare there is no profit in that year and therefore no "bonus" is given. e.g: due to recession of 2020's COVID therefore 2019's bonus is delayed/partially given/no bonus - no kpi/project bonus - benefit is only on medical insurance(admitted to hospital), MC/parking/optical/dental/snacks is not provided/claimable. - "Army environment", management assigned you a task, then you will have to do it, no rejection. - the better you are, the more work/responsibility you get, with no compensation. if you are sentimental person, you might even feel no appreciation and no respect. - no OT pay, maximum you'll get free pizza for the night. - Politics, broken promises, lies after lies. - no company trip, no team-building due to no budget - tight timelines

Hey, thanks for your review. We’re glad that we shared the same good memories and things in the office. And at the same time, we’re sorry to hear about the less negative experiences you made. Allow us to comment on some of the points that you have made: During the course of the tigerlab journey, we have always aimed to provide the best for all of our employees. We stand together during tough times and we won’t leave anyone behind. Especially during the current Covid-19 period, we understand that job security is more important than ever before. It was and is our utmost priority to avoid redundancies and pay cuts and provide a secure and safe environment for all of our members. And we as a whole team are proud that we have achieved this during those difficult times. And this achievement comes with smaller sacrifices that have to be made by the entire team. We can only hope to have your understanding that additional employee benefits, salary increments and annual company trips are of a lesser priority than job security or pay cuts. We all enjoy the occasional company trip, be it small or big. But there are times when we have to put the focus on other things and we have to content ourselves with evening pizza, games nights or Karaoke and Steamboat instead. We have the ambition to be one of the best insurtech software companies in the world. The way to achieve is to deliver the highest standard of software and be agile. If being in a fast-changing and growing environment proves to be a challenge for you, then we might not the right company for you. We work in independent and self-sustaining agile teams with each team having a team leader. Ultimately, it is a combined effort between our employees, their team leaders as well as senior management to make sure tasks are adequately assigned with realistic timelines being suggested - in each team. We implement agile methodologies to make sure feedback from each team member and each team is being brought forward, impediments and challenges are being identified. Not all procedures might be perfect. But we adjust them whenever we need them. Unfortunately, some feedback only arrives to us when it’s too late and an employee quits. One fair comment that you brought up though is the OT not being paid. We understand that overtime should be compensated and we just recently introduced a mechanism that allows us to track overtime done and we are introducing ways to compensate within lieu leave and OT payments. It’s just fair that you should be rewarded for the extra effort and time spend outside of the regular working hours. We also believe in two-way communications and when issues are brought up, we try to understand them and provide solutions that work for everyone. This is a great example of it being addressed and solved. We are sorry that this improvement might come too late for you. Last but not least, we embrace transparency and which is why we started to do quarterly/yearly reports during our town hall. We cannot share your opinion of charts or numbers being plotted. Our P&L is publicly available and we are happy to share the result that tigerlab does as a whole with all parties involved. Anyways, not all stories have happy endings, and thank you for bringing some of the points to our attention. We are happy to make things work everyone and improve wherever we can. Your review helps us on that journey. We wish you all the best on your future path and we thank you for your contribution.

Pros

- Decent working environment - Convenient office location

Cons

- Unfair scheme, bias based on people - Real contributors will end up with nothing, while other incompetents will get most of the credit - Management only listen to those new comer sweet words, not the advice of older employees who have worked here for more than few years - High employee turnover rate around 40% between 2019 to 2020, all this is after new management and bootlicker step in - No background check for new employee, you can bs whatever here

Hello, thank you so much for your review and we are glad that you like the working environment that is prepared for everyone's convenience as we believe that our employees deserve a good and decent working environment as well as for the office location, we take pride in saying that we are located at a golden location, whereby our office is easily accessible by MRT. As for the issues raised in the comments, allow us to clarify with you from the company's end : Every employee in tigerlab is important to us, and we appreciate every effort and contribution that they had make, and making still and we compensate our employees based on their performance as believe that every employee should be remunerated well based on their work. We appreciate teamwork here at tigerlab as we believe that everything's that's done together as a team gives more productivities and we have also implemented "Mentorship Program", whereby, Seniors of a department are assigned to new joiners and the necessary knowledge and skills to be taught to the new joiners. This avoids any mishaps in any projects done so that both the new joiner and the Senior come together and work as a team to work efficiently. We encourage our employees to have a very good career progresson in their professional development line, hence we take pride in saying that most of tigerlab employees who left have a good career prospects by applying their skills that they have learned in our company to other companies. We have requirements to be fulfilled by candidates before they are hired, and we ensure that we hire employees with much skills and qualities that are on par with our company vision and mission. We appreciate your good concern of raising these issues, and we are striving to resolve the issues that you have raised to us. Pros

1) Clear pathway for career progression: In my experience working here, I've been exposed to my career route on what or where I'll end up with, depending on my role or specialization. Big fan of this because it opens me up to what I shall be doing in the next 3 to 5 years. And the neat part is that this career pathway/route is almost applicable even in other company(s) within the same field, since I can foresee myself focusing on a niche area - makes it that much clearer for me on what I should expect/achieve in my career goals for the long haul. 2) More potential for InsureTech industry: There's more growth for Insuretech/reinsurance field, which hasn't fully been explored by other insurance industries as many haven't adopted the digitized approach. If you're someone who wants to venture deep into Insuretech for more growth and exploration, tigerlab might be your fit. Plus, in-line with first point above, depending on your job and role, you'll be able to expand your skills in this industry to further climb up the corporate ladder. 3) Skilled colleagues and team: We've got a ton of diverse, skilled and energetic employees coming in from all over the globe across different age/demographics. You've got this mix of bag of folks from different backgrounds offering different perspectives on how things should be done. You'll definitely be able to challenge yourself and learn more from employees here. These are all plus points for working here and I've built some of the best relationships whilst working here.

Cons

1) Hectic time crunch/Over-Time: Time crunching and rushing prior to go-live deadline is not a news anymore. It happens everywhere in software/fintech industry. However, from my experience working in this company, this issue of rushing for strict deadlines has happened multiple times in the past and it'll keep on persisting without any hints/discussions to at least mitigate it anytime soon. You're bound to keep on rushing to make it to the deadline, or expect some sudden changes in requirements that requires you to be on your toes. By the time I was resigning, I didn't hear nor see any concrete changes in establishing a proper deadline, or to avoid this strict deadline that necessitates rushing for OT (Overtime). Frankly speaking, if you're someone who truly values personal time and don't want to constantly work OT on weekday nights and on weekends, you might wanna get some more feedbacks from current employees before you work here. 2) No clearly defined rewards/compensation for OT: Based on my personal anecdotes, we weren't given any compensation after our team has managed to push and supported the system after it went live. Picture this: You've been OT for the past week because you need to catch up on the deadlines, and you're pushing past office hours to get things done, replying to messages/emails and catch up on weekends. Getting chased by the management/higher-ups for the consequences on what will happen if you didn't make it. Fair enough, because it's the nature of our work. After the dust has settled and things were finally done, what happens next? Depending on circumstances, you may or may not get rewarded. As an employee, you might be lucky if you're compensated accordingly as per your job scope/responsibilities but that might not always be the case. Now, if this were to happen few and far in between, its acceptable to sacrifice your personal time for work once in a while, it happens. But remember the first point (Cons) I've written above, about constant rushing towards deadlines? Repeat this again and again and you'll be expected to burn midnight oil most of the time, and might face burnout. It'll get real old, real fast especially if you get nothing tangible aside from a pat on your back by the higher-ups on how you're a valuable employee, but apparently not valuable enough that you're warranted a bonus or increment.
