It is difficult to find constructive criticism in this type of evaluation. While we encourage transparency here at Threshold, it is unfortunate that this type of unfounded review is allowed to be posted. It is hurtful to read something like this considering how hard we work to build and maintain our relationships, take care of our people, and raise money for the organizations you mention you care about. Threshold Giving is not a sinking ship. In fact, it is quite the opposite. We are growing on every campaign we are currently working with and expanding our operations into next year. This is due entirely to the incredible work of our fundraisers in the field, and the reputation we have forged with the Non-Profit partners that we represent. Our company has been in business since 1977 and at no time have we ever had anything to do with Multi-Level Marketing. We wouldn't be able to work with the partners we do if this were the case. I will assume that you don't know what MLM is or looks like for even suggesting we operate this way. Our fundraisers come from all different demographics. We promote from within based on overall performance. We would never discuss hiring or promoting based on age as you suggested. I believe this was well represented in the market you worked in showcasing staff from different backgrounds as well as veteran managers with 8+ combined years of face-to-face fundraising experience. We have multiple reviews from former employees. Some are positive, and some provide us with constructive criticism which we utilize to improve as an organization. I cannot speak to what inspired this type of post. We appreciate your 6+ months here and wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors.

Thanks for your feedback. I'd have to disagree, respectfully, with your comments regarding our lack of concern for security and empathy. Our fundraisers are some of the most passionate and talented individuals I have ever met, and we are fully aware of how challenging (and rewarding) this profession can be. The nature of this position does require working through the elements as we manage appropriate levels of production that allow us to run our business and meet the expectations of the NPOs we represent, there is simply no way around this. I do believe we put our fundraisers' safety first in regard as we would never make a fundraiser work in conditions where they feel unsafe. We work hard to provide the appropriate work environment to foster success as well as personal and professional development for our folks in the field. I apologize if your experience left you feeling like this was not the case.

Pros

-Working for a cause I believed in -Met amazing coworkers -Decent pay

Cons

-Upper management threw bodies at the market to see what stuck instead of investing in proper training -Several canvassers let go without warnings -Rarely had enough equipment (not enough shirts/tablets/podiums) -Lack of care from upper management about hazardous working conditions -Communication issues -Forced positivity over mental health

Thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I apologize for the lack of equipment. Unfortunately, like so many things at the moment, there have been delays with our normal vendors as of late. This combined with our expansion efforts has created a shortage that we are working hard to address. I can understand how that can be frustrating. We work hard at Threshold Giving on training and it is constantly developing. We do our best to be transparent with expectations from day one while providing the support for our staff to grow with our organization. I apologize if you felt this was not the case in your experience. I do believe we are understanding the individual needs of our fundraisers with mental health and working conditions at the forefront of many conversations internally. We also have an open-door policy with direct access available from our fundraisers to our Senior Management team. I am glad to see that you enjoyed your coworkers as well as the cause you were representing. Please feel free to reach out to us directly to discuss anything and everything about your experience.
