Pros

There are some great people at the company, with really big hearts and brilliant minds. The code base will help you grow as a junior developer.

Cons

Serious lack of leadership (tech-wise) from the top all the way down. Disparaging and sarcastic remarks made publicly from leadership about specific individuals are not uncommon, there is no structured or meaningful goal-setting, leadership makes almost no effort to understand what employees are looking for out of their term of employment. Communication is deeply fractured, and there is really no role modelling from senior technical leadership. In my experience, there is absolutely no room for upward mobility or any kind of meaningful raise/title change. Benefits are almost nonexistent.

Pros

- Across from Union Station - Wine and beer are available to compensate for your long hours and high stress levels - Quarterly drinking parties are fun, although many end up sick and embarrassed - Could be OK if you have no experience and no outside commitments or interests - Friendly, young co-workers at the more junior levels

Cons

- If you want to work in healthcare IT, there are many other options in the city with real products and stronger values - Run by ex-politicians with inflated egos, inexperienced in business, healthcare, or technology - Non-existent products are sold in high quantities as market-ready products. Company does not resource adequately to build or deliver. - High, burn-out related turnover and very tense client relationships. Constantly looking for scapegoats. - Business model yet to be tested through a change in political party - CEO has spoken openly about 98% of people being disposable - Pay is embarrassingly low for many positions. Vacation days are also stingy. - HR are extremely unprofessional and cliquey. High school-like behaviour. Strong resistance to introducing any policies to promote equitable treatment. Your employment contract will refer to policies that don’t exist. - Complete clock-watchers. Expect disappointed glares from senior management if you are working less than 10-12 hour days. - Double standards in terms of remote working arrangements. Generally not tolerated. - Building set to be torn down so not maintained. Elevators break down and stairwells are locked. Bathrooms are disgusting. - People are crammed in back-to-back and elbow-to-elbow. - Your days, evenings, and weekends will be gamified. You’ll constantly be chasing points for recognition of efforts doing unplanned work. - “No micro-management” comments from HR are technically true. Hoowever, macro-management and meso-management are also lacking. Senior management truly are not plugged in to what they have sold and therefore do not step in to manage and support the team. Lots of blame and finger-pointing.

Pros

They will pay you money, but will replace you as soon as they find someone for less money

Cons

Normally I don’t write these reviews, but I have to for this organization to warn anyone who can get help by reading this review. 1. Poor management, non transparent people 2. Lack of direction (They hire you for something, makes you do something totally different. There is no career plan or even day to day job plan) 3. No communication (You won’t hear from anyone in the team, no guidance, no plan, no updates, no feedback) 4. High on nepotism (Finance CFO joined the team and got his entire team from the previous organization and fired the current team at Think and similar in other departments too) 5. You CAN NOT TRUST them (you will be having a normal conversation in the evening and next morning they will call you and say that you are fired, has happened to so many people) If you value your career please do not join this organization, they will entice you with money and fancy titles. Do not get into the trap. All reviews are correct, it’s a toxic workplace. You will see people with a couple of years of experience with fancy designations like Directors/Senior Directors. There is no investment in people, they will throw you out at the first opportunity. They are fake leaders, no direction, no value of human capital. I can only warn you to not join this place, trust me you will get better options than this place.
