Great Mission/Terrible Management

Pros

The mission is great and the staff is amazing -- IT and Member Support teams are salt of the earth. The staff makes this ship run with their dedication and work ethic, in spite of the cons below.

Cons

Top level management is tyrannical. COO screams and yells and is not supportive -saw a lot of tears. Way too process oriented to the point of not getting work done. The org is always reworking its leadership team, it vision, goals. There is no consistency and you never what to expect. Staff morale is an all time low and despite knowing this, the CEO has turned a blind eye to it, refusing to acknowledge it except with an occasional "thanks" to staff. People are jumping ship. Leadership moved out of town and is shutting the office making leadership even less accessible. Board is only given a rosy picture of the business and they almost never ask hard questions. People have been hired and then left on their own within months. People's job title change almost daily and re-orgs happen monthly it seems with no warning.

Good people, failed leadership.

Pros

There are a number of smart, talented and committed staff that care deeply for the mission. We work hard, and know that the staff makes a difference. Good benefits.

Cons

The CEO is disconnected, absent, and wishy washy. Most of all, fails to hold herself and the COO accountable for his angry outburst, retribution and toxic workplace. Management is a constant rotating door under these two so-called leaders.

Great company if you just want to coast

Pros

If you want to have great work/life balance and more time for life than work, then you will love working here.

Cons

Not a lot of accountability so people are not doing that much work. Also, they like to just talk about ideas but don't really execute on anything, so nothing changes year after year. Management is not great. They don't know what they are doing.
