Pros

Clients are great. Strong teamwork between therapists.

Cons

Absolute worst company I have ever worked for. Their only objective is to increase revenue and grow their business. They do not adhere to their own mission statement / company values, by which they use to attract clients. Programs and goals ARE NOT individualized, but in fact, copied and pasted and NOT based off client needs. There were many occasions where clients had as little as 3 programs for several months. I have personally advocated for multiple clients who have been neglected by the BCBA and clinical supervisors and was denied both help and accommodations for the clients. HR also did not reply to my concerns presented to them. The treatment of therapists is abhorrent. Therapists' health, both mental and physical are dismissed. Therapists are expected to perform several hours of therapy with no break. Staff are given un functional pairings. I.E. a pairing with a client that is known for aggressing towards other peers, putting the other client at risk. Advocating for yourself and/or your client results in being reprimanded. The company is extremely reluctant to send ill clients home, putting other clients and the therapists at risk. Moving up in the company has nothing to do with your actual abilities, but rather your willingness to throw others under the bus. HR has actually asked therapists to send them names and details of other therapists they believe aren't doing well, insinuating a chance at promotion for doing so. The list goes on and on. Prospective employees and clients STAY AWAY. Also, the positive reviews you see in August 2017 were incentivized for a chance to win a prize.

The Behavior Exchange Response

Dear former employee, Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience with The Behavior Exchange. As a growing company, we understand your frustrations and concerns and can assure you that we take complaints seriously. Health and safety is of utmost importance at all of our centers. When pairing children, we do take into account the child’s behavior and history and will make every effort to ensure their safety as well as that of the therapist. The Behavior Exchange works under the same stipulations set for similar establishments such as schools and daycares in which a child is sent home if he/she demonstrates possible contagious illness. We assure you that we take proper action as it is not beneficial for the child and/or employee to become ill and miss therapy or work. In regards to employee development, The Behavior Exchange prides itself for promoting from within and providing opportunities. We have objective standards and requirements in place to ensure the best candidates are promoted accordingly. In response to the comment regarding incentivizing employees to post reviews, we do ask employees to please review our company and their experience. This is not required and is up to the employee. We welcome employees to express their honest opinions and concerns and by no means do we ever request that their reviews must be positive. We welcome employee feedback both positive and negative. We ask for honest and open communication in order for us to grow as a company and provide the best service to our clients and best work environment for our employees. Unfortunately, not all issues can be resolved according to each employee’s preferences, but we make every effort to ensure proper action is taken. Best regards, The Behavior Exchange

Not worth it

Pros

Great team work within the zones Great clients

Cons

No sick days, no PTO time, and leadership is just way to secretive. Its supposed to be a team effort, but half the decisions are written behind closed doors. No one listens to anyone and every child basically programs. All the BIPs are way to similar, and there isnt much room for change. There have been clients that have literally 5 programs for months which is not fair to the clients. When you ask for more training, they make you feel like you're the smallest person in the world. The HR is basically one person who has favorites. ALSO theres only 4 BCBA's on staff, not even enough for the 90+ kids there. Don't apply if you want to learn more.

Terrible Management/Great Kids

Pros

Loved the kids. Loved the competitive pay. Loved the teamwork among therapist. Good new hire training. Easy to request time off.

Cons

Company policies were not consistent across upper management, if you asked a question, the answer was different from every person you asked. Employee benefits were terrible, and time was not flexible or guaranteed. Client programming was not as individualized as it could be in the field of ABA, many of the clients had the same goals, which shouldn't be the case. From time to time, very incompatible children were with the same therapist which was not functional for either child. If you do not conform to their ideologies, (out of the box thinking is not welcomed, regardless of what you are told during your interview) then you will not grow within company.

We strive to provide competitive pay and benefits along with a positive work environment and growth opportunities.
