Pros

- Great workplace for juniors, and mid-level employees. - Great learning opportunities with free external and internal courses and paid certifications. - International work environment with many great office locations with supportive and friendly co-workers. - Salary is mostly reasonable for junior and mid-level experience.

Cons

- Over time, the growth and performance system becomes complex and repetitive, with strong emphasis on completed courses and certifications which determines your perspectives. - Customer feedback often outweighs internal context, even in challenging or disputed situations. - Projects are frequently managed by a single manager, which can make issue resolution and escalation difficult despite generally good communication.

Pros

Can be a starting step into IT (6-12 months max)

Cons

- Terrible remuneration system with often unrealistic goals that can only be worked towards in the employee free time - Unhealthy work relationship, where the employees are expected to put the company above their personal life - Elitist management/HR, that doesn't hide that they think they are above the rest of the employees - Actual contribution to the company is overlooked in favour of the bi-annual goals - Most employees can expect no salary raise even with perfectly completed goals, with questionable financial decisions from the administration playing a big part - Unprofessional HR team - Management gaslighting employees about the situation within the company - One of the CEOs is often rude - Teambuilding event rules get more and more convoluted to make employees refrain from creating them at all - HR team doesn't respect employees and then is surprised that the employees avoid communicating with them - Tries to attract people with free courses, which are often led by inexperienced lecturers that are just random employees that have it in their goals

Hello! While we are sorry to hear about your negative experience with us, we appreciate your review. Thank you! We have a clear goal system in place and salary levels that are transparent for all employees. Everybody has a chance to grow and also increase their compensation for the work they’ve done if the current business environment allows it. We want to emphasize that this is a two-way conversation between the employee and the management where both parties agree on a set of goals that need to be reached in order to get a step up in their career path. If for example, the workload in the project increases, employees can adjust their goals so they don’t become “unrealistic”. Management is there to accommodate these changes and help every employee to advance within the company. But as you know, we are in the process of improving our goal system to make it more beneficial for the career growth of our employees. Also, employees can contact management directly if they feel that they can’t manage their work/life balance or goals need to change. There are no cases when we reject conversations to reach an agreement for such matters. We have multiple regular company-wide activities like internal newsletters and live all-hands meetings where we share the latest company information. During these calls, we also answer all employee questions. Additionally, w offer a possibility to send in questions/feedback in an anonymous form. We try to apply the same teambuilding rules to all employees within the company. They change based on various factors, team changes and sizes, financial situation, etc. Still, we always strive to explain the rules clearly and are open to discussing and adjusting the process to individual needs. We envision teambuilding as an activity that takes place within one team/project/relevant work group to strengthen relationships within the team and create a more collaborative environment. Continuous learning and self-improvement are a must in IT and this is why we offer various internal and external IT courses that help our employees gain new knowledge. We are improving internal courses based on the feedback from participants after each course. This means that your feedback matters even if you didn’t like your course led by some of your colleagues - we are open to listening to your concerns. Although it seems like your time at TestDevLab ended on a negative note, we want to say thank you for your feedback that we will use to improve working conditions for your now ex-colleagues. We have always been open to improvements and are working to create an environment where employees feel free to bring up their concerns and share feedback with the management and administration. Best regards, TestDevLab management

Pros

- Offers a fantastic way to kickstart your IT career and grow professionally; - Exciting and challenging projects, big-name clients; - A lot of opportunities to get great experience and expand your skillset (company offers internal technical courses, access to many different external trainings as well as provides the option to acquire internationally acclaimed certifications such as ISTQB); - Flexible working conditions; - Laid-back and informal working environment, employees are able to directly communicate with the CEOs; - Company has grown rapidly over the last few years and even though that has brought up certain issues, the workplace doesn't feel corporate-like; - Great colleagues, supportive team leads and fun parties (to a certain degree, though, more on that in the Cons section).

Cons

- Biggest issue by far is the HR department, unfortunately some of the HR & recruitment "specialists" are notorious for being bad at communication with existing and potential employees; - Toxic environment has been cultivated within HR/recruitment/sales, they love gossiping about employees, disregarding their feedback and sometimes being straight up annoyed that employees dare to reach out to them about workplace-related issues (so in turn people start to feel like they can't speak up about these things and we end up with public reviews like these); - Current salary increase system, which is goal-based, is probably not the best way to assess employee's performance and a lot of people are frustrated with that, BUT it's great to see that the company is reacting to this feedback and planning to change this system or implement a new one; - Party culture (tied together with team events) here is.. interesting. On one hand, there are lots of lively events where you can connect with your colleagues and just have fun, on the other hand, those events are always focused just on getting plastered, to the point where some of the recent bigger events had either very poor food choices or none at all, but alcohol - without limits! Yay..? Would much rather prefer a drink-limit per person (e.g. give everyone vouchers for 3-4 drinks) and have a higher quality event with more activities than just getting drunk and with actual food and snacks; - To add on the "party culture", even though company seems to be going through tougher times right now financially, there's no frugality when it comes to HR and co going on fancy works trips, partying away like there's no tomorrow on company's resources, staying in lavish guest houses, etc.

Hello! While we are sorry to hear about your negative experience with us, we appreciate your review (and thanks for the Pros part of the review). Thank you for your feedback. We take it very seriously as such remarks help us to adjust and improve our internal processes. Every year we ask for feedback from our employees and reevaluate the performance of administrative roles. This helps us improve our administrative activities to better serve the needs of our employees. Regardless of that, our CEOs are always open to one on one discussions and direct feedback about any processes or specific employees working in the administration team. We have a clear goal system in place and salary levels that are transparent for all employees and offer a path on how to grow at the company. It is always a two-way conversation between the employee and the management where we agree on a set of goals that suits both parties. We are reviewing the progress of employees and revising the salary once or twice per year depending on seniority. As with every other process in the company, we review and improve our goal-setting process regularly. Thank you for your feedback about our internal events. We will re-assess our approach to these events and try to improve them. We are open to discussion and feel free to reach out to the management if you still have unanswered questions. Best regards, TestDevLab management
