There are many many cons at Telecon. I have worked full-time for over two years and everyone always has the same advice; get out as soon as you can. The starting pay was 18$/hr when considering the work you do you should be getting 24$/hr. They treat you more like a part time student rather even though you are doing work that requires a diploma or a degree. The raises are atrocious. Once a year and barely more than the inflation rate. There are no bonuses. Things have been steadily getting worse since I got here. The new starting pay went down to 16$/hr. We do have benefits but when I started they were not very good, barely covered anything and they take a lot out of your paycheck to cover it. Now it is even more expensive and they cover a lot less. We had five sick days a year when I started, which is about the bare minimum you should expect from a bad/mediocre company, now we have only three. Extra vacation hours you have get cancelled out instead of accumulated. The company doesn't give you overtime until after 44 hours, and if you took a day of or there was a holiday then good luck because you need 52 hours before you get over time, and that's when management strongly encourages you to stay late and come in on the weekends. Advancement is a joke. Management loves using the words "horizontal move" because even though you move up into a higher position and get more responsibilities, management just calls it a horizontal move so they don't have to give you a raise. One of the most frustrating things is about how the company and the CEO are raving about how well the company is doing and how much profit their making but are still so cheap with their employees.
