Pros

Salary is ok for Taiwan standards. A few more vacation days than the typical Taiwanese companies. Office location is good, lots of food options. Free coffee and milk. You will make some good friends here through a combined feeling of dissatisfaction, but it will be short-lived due to the high turnover.

Cons

Working hours are not consistent due to frequent evening meetings, usually with little notice so don't bother making after work plans. A lot of pointless meetings without any action items or execution plan. Meetings are more to boast about how hard you have worked either by having many meetings or by working late. Upper management is easily swayed and constantly changes their mind on which direction they are headed. Plenty of contradicting tasks will be handed to you by various different execs who have not aligned. Glorified titles, but no decision making authority. The company will tell you promising plans and changes, but they will never come to light. Very obvious flaws in operating procedures won't be fixed because "that's just how it's always been" so prepare yourself to workaround inaccurate data and illogical work processes. Directors are mostly located in New York, but by no means is this an "American Company." There are maybe 2-3 upper managers. some customer service reps, and warehouse staff there. Everyone else on the operations side is based in Taiwan. The company runs itself very much like a Taiwanese company. Because management is not in the main office, they will micromanage you through calls, emails, skype and wechat on a daily basis. There is A LOT of drama in this company. The company does not function as a cohesive team. Gossip and not-so-secret meetings between managers are the norm here. Responsibilities are pushed around and management is always ready to point fingers and put blame on junior employees. For those of us who got to travel for work, travel was for 3 weeks upwards to over a month. Accommodation would be at a rural air BNB with all other employees on trip and daily spending budget was not livable, so prepare to spend out of pocket. There is no cash allowance and only one company card so all meals were eaten together with other colleagues on the trip. Once at the NY office, do not even think about touching your cellphone or you will be reprimanded. Overall, would not recommend. They sound promising, but you will be disappointed and unhappy very quickly.

Pros

Free coffee and milk. The milk supply is the only thing that runs smoothly at this company.

Cons

Incompetent leaders who don't know what they want most of the time. This permeates throughout the company. There is rampant ignorance and laziness. Assignments will get passed around until the executives forget about them. Yet with all this incompetence, the executives love to micromanage. They are to be cc'd in most emails. You might also be cc'd in a lot of emails, which leads to lost messages, and misplaced tasks. It only matters when they bring it up in quarterly meetings, but are quickly forgotten again. Data is inaccurate, which leads to irrational decisions. There is an emphasis on accurate forecasts (based on those inaccurate data and your intuition) over actually selling products. Ultimately it won't matter, because the supply chain team is not interested in selling the most units possible. Out of stock situations are common. Overstock items are your problem. Sales team has to contact buyers at night from home, and sometimes those executives want to have follow-up meetings afterwards. You may be on a call listening to executives talking about who to cc in your emails.
