Pros

Decent company, good products. Great for entry level work experience or just mindless hours to earn some cash. Professional, well established company with some benefits if you decide to stay around long enough. If you choose a specialty area you can get some good related training/education.

Cons

Like any job, be prepared for ego's and fiefdoms within any store and work-center. If you get along with others easily you'll do fine. Used to have decent benefits but has taken many cost cutting measures out on employees, particularly hourly workers. Can differ between stores but seem overly PC and in my experience many executive/managerial members seemed constantly afraid for their jobs, especially ones that came up through the ranks vs. the new college grad hires at their first career type jobs. Remember it's retail so be prepared to not have any life around holidays or weekends and be prepared to beg for work hours during the slow times.

Pros

Employee discount. Every store can be different so if you get into a store with quality management, it could be fine.

Cons

Immature and inexperienced management. These kids fresh out of college are not ready to be executives. For example, using the walkies to plan when to all go on break together, leaving only one executive on the floor. #1: Using the walkies in that way prevents others from communicating over the walkies about something that is actually important. #2: Breaks should be staggered among employees, especially with management, so you don't leave the sales floor deserted with no one to help customers. This isn't high school - you don't need to go on break with your friends, but this is how childish they are, apparently learning nothing with their college education. Management shouldn't be placing their personal interests before the interests of the store.
