Pros

The culture amongst the employees is good and supportive. The technical level of the work is low enough that you can get up to speed with the work in about a month or two.

Cons

There is a lot of admin that needs to be done for each project, or job you do. There is a lot of pressure put on the employees to work overtime, for genuinely little pay. The underlying tone from management is one of distrust and micromanagement, regardless of your level within the company. Unfortunately, if new ideas, or avenues are suggested or followed they are often shot down or ridiculed. Very little actual innovation takes place at Triz.

Pros

- The sporting and social environment is good, however with Covid there is none. - You will make friends for life - Once your friends leave Triz they will help you find a new job as well

Cons

- Worst salary in SA - Don't expect a raise, it won't happen - You have to pay Triz for a parking spot close to the building or walk 400m to and from the public parking spot - No overtime pay but if you don't work overtime then you will not get your bonus at the end of the year - Extremely high Employee turnover - Everyone at Triz is looking for a new job because nobody can live off the salary and the management is too ridiculous to deal with - MICROmanagement to the nth degree - a meeting every morning to discuss the work for the day, then you have to send and email after work to describe the work you did for the day. Every day there is a meeting for the different departments where you discuss the work for the week, AND you have 3 meetings per week with American Clients to discuss the same work again. AND at the end of every day you have to fill out timesheets accurate to 15 minutes which they punish you if they don't believe you are telling the truth (whether you are or not) - Management agrees to deadlines before discussing the scope of work so project deadlines are always late - Management is out to make money and do not care about your well-being - You will have better luck arguing with a brick wall than you will with the HR guy because he has made his mind up before he hears what you have to say (whether he's wrong or not you will receive the same outcome) - Don't expect to make the company/product better because you will get this answer 100% of the time: "this is how we have always done it and it works so don't change it". - They don't encourage creativity - Expect to be treated like a school child and not a professional - If you survive more than 2 years at Triz they WILL find a way to force you to resign - All-in-all, don't do it. Rather stay unemployed than work here because you will find something better.

Pros

Travel to states (Be it rural america) and incredibly relaxed working environment.

Cons

Management have archaic view of employee management and running the business, what they say goes and refuse to understand wants and needs of the workforce. As a result High turn over rate. Misleading about overtime and increases, financial reviews are a mythical science here and you will be lucky to get an annual increase above inflation. Starting salary has been the same for as long as the company has existed. Employees are just numbers as the business model works on the basis of billing. Employees bill the clients around $40 dollars an hour, only seeing around $2 of that in salary. Huge discrepancy between director and employee pay. Equate to slave labor. No chance for progression within the company. You are hired a junior and will remain so regardless of skill, ability and time at the company. Top 3 Directors will never promote someone to their level. Disguise promotions with roman numerals following your title and with "Team Leaders" who do the same work for the same pay.
