Pros

There are no pros for working here

Cons

Surface based "culture" but is toxic to its absolute core. The People Experience (HR) team cannot be trusted. They speak horribly about people behind their backs within earshot of others, spread mistruths and bully staff. If anyone else within the business acted like they do, they wouldn't have a job. And before you send the generic "things have changed" reply, I speak with current employees and nothing has changed.

Pros

Good pay, progressive and multi dimensional

Cons

People Experience team talk about the culture a lot, continue launching new initiatives, but in its core Exec cannot be trusted, very cut throat. Impossible to have any work life balance, propose are continually on the verge or well into burn out. No one is addressing the real issues. It’s all talk.

low cost company, low pay, low expectations

Pros

good brand name and international reputation of Vodafone that continues to attract some good professionals. smaller than other telecoms in Australia, more collaborative. friendly colleagues at your level that want to help the best they can if you ask nicely. work life balance is good - endless meetings but other than that it's manageable. working from home 100% is still possible and many are doing that.

Cons

weak executives and upper management, not much of strategy and vision, short term thinking and mostly reacting to market and competitors. mediocre pay and demanding mediocrity only. performance evaluation is a hoax - under-performing managers can't tell capable employees from the not so capable, plus higher ups also pick their favourites as well. sucking up and not challenging your bosses is hugely important. good people don't stick around, so your opportunity to learn is limited. absurd cost cutting measures, but at the same time huge wasteful spending on pet projects run by management darlings. a lot of outsourcing done as the company is unable to develop internal capability and retain talented people - they end up paying more for the work to be done externally by contractors.
