Pros

- Team members are cool and helpful despite the toxicity coming from above. - Decent working hours. You will not be forced to overwork.

Cons

- BI leadership has zero knowledge about BI. - Interns will be bullied and mistreated by the BI leadership while no structured training will be provided to them. They will be hired based on their physical appearance and will be seen as BI leadership's drinking buddies. - Unpleasant daily tasks with lots of reconciliations and excel files. You will forget that you are working in BI and you will start believing that you work for a finance department in the 90's. - Highly political environment. - Salaries are way below market average. - No opportunities to grow professionally, personally. Therefore, there is a high young and talented people turnover. - No benefits/perks/bonuses. This kind of things are especially reserved to the management. - Very old-school working environment with a strong hierarchical structure.

Pros

Despite the incapable management, the team sticks together and creates a pleasant working atmosphere. You will learn to be more political, many times you will feel like you work in the European Parliament. Implementation of new database technologies.

Cons

BI is run as a finance department. You will be stuck in an endless loop of reconciliation. (Especially interns and new joiners. May the force be with you.) Old technologies you've probably haven't heard of are still very prevalent and their decommissioning is not on sight. Don't get fooled by fancy words. Interns and contractors are hired based on their looks and ability to entertain the immediate management and are often targets of inappropriate behaviors. The priorities are nonsensically being changed multiple times a day - that ultimately leads to frustration and giving up on using your brain entirely. There is no strategic understanding of how to move BI to the next level due to the lack of management and IT skills of the leadership. Overall, a very old-fashioned company with old ways of working. The good news is that things are changing but at a very slow pace.
