Foot in the Door, and Then Out...
Pros
Generous time-off (30 days a year, including holidays and sick time), half price public transportation passes, good experience for first-timers in clinical research, ability to speak with leading cardiologists, prestige and name recognition of TIMI, very easy work, competent coworkers, and great work-life balance. HOWEVER, work environment is highly dependent on what team/trial you are on. Mid-level management, i.e. Project Managers and Assistant PMs, can be great or terrible --you just have to get lucky.
Cons
Low compensation when compared to pharma companies, a lot of grunt work at the RA level, high turn-over rate, lots of red tape due to overarching BWH policies. Lots of people work here for a year or two and they're out the door, leaving many teams to scramble in times of short-handedness. Training process for people unfamiliar with trials and clinical research is lengthy and grueling. Some benefits that BWH offers to all employees are harder for TIMI South employees to get, due primarily because of the location of the Quincy office.
