Failing Startup with Limited Capital and No Strategic Plan

Pros

An opportunity to work with some of the most driven and engaged professionals in the business. Most folks were bright, willing to help, and handled uncertainty, supply chain complications, and poorly managed internal operations issues without missing a beat. The compensation was decent, but be prepared for long days, a non-existent work-life balance, and to be let go at the drop of a hat.

Cons

SwagUp has failed to raise money for the past 6 months, and since they rely on 3rd party apps and inbound leads to support their team and bottom line, are missing revenue projections at a steady rate. The majority of the current leadership team is untenured and impulsive, which can have devastating long-term effects for the business. There is absolutely no career-pathing/professional development in place.

Has a lot to figure out before re-hiring

Pros

You get a lot of swag working here, along with the opportunity to see how new updates impact the business and customer journey.

Cons

There are a lot of executives with big egos. Each meeting with a leader ends up badmouthing another executive. With the massive layoff recently, it is apparent that there are favorites. It all feels like a toxic game of who is friends with who.

Pros

Majority of the people I worked with during my time were hard working, easy going, and just a pleasure to work with. Very flexible unlimited PTO Plenty of cool swag you receive

Cons

The leadership teams lack of foresight has ended up hurting employees below them quite often. It seems as though there is no clear path for the future or plan on how to attack current problems, leaving other departments hurting or in need of resources.
