Pros

Colleagues are nice and friendly. HR is helpful. Most people know what they are doing, and how to do their jobs.

Cons

Management runs the business like a joke. Everything is based on their whim and fancy. No direction, no leadership. Things can be planned, and the next day, decide to do a 180 and everything changes. They don't even care if this offends anyone they work with. Grand plans, but no guidance, or even any idea on how they want to get there. They hire many upper management people, and even people from experienced companies, but do not listen to the advice. The management just targets different teams/functions to point fingers at daily. Very obvious favouritism and siding of certain staff who obviously cannot do their job. They don't need people who know how to do things, they just need people who speak with an accent, have worked/studied overseas before, and can be controlled like puppets. Very rude and unprofessional when speaking to internal staff as well.

A taste of hell

Pros

You get to learn distinct examples of how not to run a company to the ground.

Cons

Management/Founders are a toxic couple who works 18 hours a day and send messages after hours - including weekend - and expect an instant reply. They often make decisions that are clouded by their personal emotions and preferences, disregarding official working hours, capacity and mental welfare. Too many employees have left, with no replacements hired. You are expected to pick up whatever work was left behind and deliver 100% or more, with zero compensation. The founders insist on signing off every piece of work but don’t reply promptly as you can imagine the hundreds of approval pending their consent. When time sensitive work gets delayed and sales are impacted, they name drop and start pointing fingers. On a daily basis, teams are expected to deliver output immediately for projects that were pre-approved but somehow deemed “a horrible idea” at the very last minute. You would think employees here should at least be compensated fairly but the truth is far from reality. They removed all forms of monetary benefits - zero bonus, no lifestyle spending account. The only thing they are giving is likely verbal and mental abuse so please do yourself a favor and stay away unless you like a taste of hell.

Pros

Great for growth (once you leave) and learning to manage toxic culture and environment.

Cons

I've worked at a few e-commerce companies in my career, but none have come close to the level of disarray and mismanagement I experienced here. The company's leadership is the embodiment of incompetence. The management team is disconnected from the day-to-day operations, more interested in their bottom line than the wellbeing of their employees. There's a pervasive lack of vision and strategy, leading to constant pivoting and indecisiveness that puts all projects in a perpetual state of limbo. Toxic culture is deeply embedded in the organisation, stemming from the senior workers and encouraged by the management. Communication is another massive issue. Information seems to flow only one way - top to down - with little to no room for employee feedback or concerns. The management team lives in an echo chamber, unwilling to listen to new ideas or constructive criticism. They give the false illusion of being open-minded by preaching their motto "talk about it", providing feedback forms where our concerns never gets acknowledged or gets brushed aside. To top it all off, the company's approach to employee welfare is laughable. They’ve taken away our benefits package, mental health is largely ignored, and the physical workspace is grim and morale is at an all time low. The company revoked work from home privileges, stating that flexibility can be exercised when the need arises. That clearly doesn't stand since they insist on employees using their annual/sick leave instead of working from home when they request for it. Expect side-eyes and passive aggressive remarks from others when you clock in/out any minute later/earlier than the 9-6 working hours - even if your work is completed on time. Low pay, zero recognition, and a culture that prioritizes blame over problem-solving. It’s no wonder why the turnover rate is so high. Working here was a colossal waste of my time and talent. If you value your career, your mental health, and your personal life, stay away.
