Pros

Beautiful exterior: gardens, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, pizza oven, trails. A mini botanical gardens next to a set from the Iron Chef.

Cons

Cutbacks and layoffs have made everyone scared. No one is allowed to work from home--not even salaried employees with 10 years of experience who know how to do their jobs. Bring in your snivels, coughs, sneezes and fevers--otherwise people will think you might be out having fun!

Sunset has been publishing for long enough that it has name recognition

Cons

I have never in my life worked for a more poorly run publication. Those at the very top of the masthead were only in it for themselves, and had no idea what was going on day-to-day because they were simply not there. The editor-in-chief would vanish for days, weeks on end, and we would have no clue why. Every day was absolute chaos, and not in a good way. I was constantly shocked at how unprepared, uninvolved, and disinterested the editorial leaders were. It's such a shame, as Sunset was once such a prestigious publication.

Long and interesting brand history, good exposure to the print media/ magazine industry, competent management team.

Cons

Higher level of responsibility overall due to leanness of staff- this can be positive or negative depending on personality/work ethic.
