Pros

- Genuine flexible working conditions. - Nice office in Brisbane. - Seems to be a good place to work if you get really excited about dams or are some kind of engineer. - Pay well despite long term employees complaining about pay

Cons

- Terrible management (general managers and above) who have found themselves in positions due to length of tenure or who they know rather than being good at their job. Executives are bogged down in the weeds and that flows down to other managers not performing at level. - It's become acceptable for people to behave badly in the workplace. - Soft skills are not valued whatsoever (related to the point above). - They hire clever people to move the organisation forward, then don't listen to those people and would rather them leave (as someone else said on here) than try to address significant systemic issues in the work place. - Culture survey is pure lip service and box ticking. - Lots of legacy staff who can not think outside their dated processes, it's like talking to a form in human format with a lot of the people. - High churn rate of new staff, easy to see why if you think about the above points. - Terrible onboarding process including collecting of unnecessary personal and medical information - they assume everyone is working at a dam site.

Pros

+ Incredible potential to deliver great outcomes for the business + Staff who actually do the work are great to collaborate with

Cons

- Managers and General Managers who are hired into roles lack the basic experience and capability to support the organisation to successful outcomes - Prevents innovation by being bogged down in governance - Not a meritocracy - Staff who are unable to deliver on outcomes are kept around to just tick things along ("busyness") - Technology is appalling and led by people well out of their depth and focussed on self interest, not business outcomes - It's not what you know, but who you know, breeding a level of incompetence that is infecting the organisation

Pros

Very competitive market salary potential; one of the highest in the market. Friendly colleagues. Free coffee. Modern office building.

Cons

Very outdated processes and systems. Incomplete procedures. Legacy staff gatekeeping information. Confusing and unnecessary tasks. Large workloads. Unnecessarily complex work when it doesn’t need to be. Management caught up in bureaucracy. Poor work life balance expected to be contactable outside work hours meaning you are unable to switch off. Disconnect between regional staff and head office.
