Pros

It is a job where you can cash your paycheck on Friday after 2 PM.

Cons

I'll be brutally honest to prevent other potential job-seekers from making the same mistake that I made: - The company filed for bankruptcy in 2013. It is public record. - The company is currently selling its portfolio of hotels because they ran out of money to finish Noblesville and Plainfield hotels. - The company will promise money and promotions but not fulfill their end. - The company displays clear favoritism towards employees that are Caucasian. - The owner has parties at the hotel and then makes the hotel pay for them. This includes but is not limited to his son's congressional fundraiser, his nephew's wedding, his annual super bowl party. - This owner spies on his competitors and will frequent hotels in the comp set to try to steal employees and other hotel's secrets. - The company is frequently dishonest to both the Hilton and IHG brand representatives, presidents, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns and comments. As with all comments which contain false information which may reflect negatively on the company, I will take the time to clarify a few of your points. SUN Development is a very diverse company, and we take great pride in running hotels which offer all employees equal opportunity, regardless of race, gender, nationality or other distinguishing factors. Our employee base, whether salaried or hourly, is made up of a wonderful mix of individuals, and a visit to any of our hotels would make that very evident. The comment that we favor caucasian individuals is simply false and without merit. It should be noted that SUN Development has been a growing hotel development and management company for over 25 years, and, like most companies that have been around this long, we have certainly seen some challenges and bumps in the road. While there have been financial up's and down's, and while sales of properties have certainly occurred, our employees simply do not have the full scope of the financial inner workings of the company, nor do they always understand why certain business decisions are made. Regarding your comments about the actions of our owner, it is neither uncommon nor unethical for an owner to use their own facilities. It is also common practice and sound business to know what your competition is doing, and visiting other hotels in the area to stay abreast of trends and changes in the market is a practice shared by many hoteliers. This actually shows a progressive approach to business, something we pride ourselves in. In closing, I will address your comment about promotions and increases. SUN Development is a huge proponent of promoting from within, and when positions open on our properties, we look first at who among our current employees may be ready and able to take that next step. We are continually improving our training programs, and know that promoting from within and growing our employees benefits everyone. Promotions and increases are never promised, they are earned. When an employee has shown that they possess the knowledge, integrity, level of discretion, professionalism and teamwork necessary to take them to the next step, it is our pleasure to promote and reward. I am sorry that your experience with SUN Development has not been what you had hoped for, and I hope that future career moves are more satisfactory for you. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns.

Pros

You get a check usually.

Cons

Benefits are the worst ever! Can't pay bills for basic hotel supplies. Fix items with bandaids. Company will probably be bankrupt within a year!

Pros

Will never fire you no matter how bad your performance is. They have absolutely no resources to run there properties so people can just blame not working on not having the tools to do the job. You can do whatever you want as long you protect management and corporate.

Cons

Be prepared to function with no resources or guidance. And be prepared to take orders from hot-headed recent grads who think a title really means anything when the executive team is comprised of 5 people who point blame, complain, and function like a bunch of irrational teenagers. Everyone from cooks, maids, to executives run on imaginary power and no commonsense.
