Pros

A small handful of staff were easy and fun to work with. As support staff I was able to make great connections with clients and genuinely feel like I was helping people.

Cons

Higher-ups are completely unapproachable. HR was an absolute nightmare; telling me after I was physically threatened by a fellow staff member that I needed to "get over it" and continue working closing shifts with him. My supervisor never made any attempts to interact with support staff as people and treated all of us like robots. Any time we would turn to her for help, we would be ignored or told to "deal with it". Any suggestions we made to make our day to day lives easier were met with "this is how we're doing it, I don't care what you think". We would be called disrespectful and insubordinate any time we disagreed with a supervisor. Therapists would constantly talk down to and mistreat the front desk staff, even going so far as to write insulting emails and gossip to other clinicians. In the year and a half that I worked here, I had my mental and physical health trampled on, my safety disregarded, my coworkers and myself were so mistreated that any time we were met with kindness and understanding it would bring us to tears. I have worked jobs that pushed me to the brink of suicide and this was still somehow worse.

Pros

The team worked together to provide the best possible care for each other and our client's in light of the clear disregard from upper management.

Cons

~Physically had to assist in moving the entire building worth of things from one location to another due to management's incompetence. ~Management did not properly set up a way to inform client's of the move, did not have it changed on google maps, and refused to place a sign in front of the building. ~Half of the building the team moved into was under construction and dangerous for clients/employees including: dust so thick people constantly coughing, workers walking through building constantly without knowledge of who they are, workers smoking and allowing it to drift into offices, people interrupting sessions by walking in, and constant construction noise including the building shaking. ~Upper management did not respond when asked to change and even "made fun of" staff and the valid complaints being issued. ~When initially moving into the building, no internet or phone service for a month without concern for beneficence and nonmaleficence. ~Safety issues such as no way to get out of the building quickly if active shooter. ~Caseload so large that high acuity clients, some with SI, are not able to receive aid for weeks up to a month and a half at a time. ~Staff required to meet a productivity number monthly to receive enough money for the upper management's grandeur financial goals and raises without staff receiving financial benefits, staff making a little over half the amount able to earn with other companies, resources less than limited to serve clients. ~Upper management refuses staff to decorate their own offices and then will not provide resources needed to efficiently serve clients. ~No self-care considerations and staff is overworked, on the verge of burn-out. ~No security measures in place to even lock the front door manually. ~Upper management hire people they know to place in prominent positions instead of the most qualified.

Pros

Summitstone does a lot of great work for the community

Cons

Bad pay, bad coworkers, horrific management, terrible overall leadership. If you get harassed by a fellow employee, make sure they aren’t besties with your director before complaining cause that’s a thing here. Basically, if you’re looking to join the IT team, since that’s all I can speak for, better be a straight white cis male or be willing to “stroke the ego” of certain members of the “team” otherwise you have a target on your back. Don’t worry, after his first outburst calling you or someone else useless/pointless you’ll know who I’m talking about. Feel free to complain to the HR team, but they don’t care and will do nothing except retaliate in whatever way they can :)
