Pros

You get to work with and help local businesses.

Cons

There is no room for growth (job wise or compensation) at this company. No raises, bonuses or perks have been given since Summit transitioned from Cox Media over six years ago. Or if they have, it's been based on favoritism, not on work ethic or productivity. The corporate company does not care about employees, management needs training on how to properly manage and care for their employees, and there need to be measures put in place to encourage employees to do their best. There were shady personnel issues that were never addressed or handled, just covered up.

Pros

If you're established in the market, know businesses with money and already have relationships...you'll succeed. If you're new to the industry/market...you'll flop. It's a who you know type of world and those who have been in the business for 15 years are the ones getting paid. Great insurance.

Cons

Pay and income level was promised...but in the end...it was lies to get you in the door. They agree to a contract and then break the contract multiple times within its' time frame. It's very sad and very bad business. Most other sellers are looking elsewhere although they give the impression that they are content. Management is shady and will do whatever it takes for a buck to the company...including take it out of sellers pockets. It's all about what benefits the company...and not its' employees. They also promised many reward programs/presidents club trips and incentives...of which none were straightforward...none had the actual goals/numbers to hit and seem that they were simply a carrot dangling in front of the seller's noses.

Pros

On a local level this company is motivating, empowering and rewarding in a way that help people thrive in their positions. It is also rewarding to see how many local businesses are helped with this team.

Cons

Not all decisions can be made locally. This approach takes away from the above Pros. The local markets are innovative and forwarded thinking but the corporate office holds each market back.
