-no career advancement
-always short-staffed (because everyone is quitting because they don’t take care of their staff) and that results in the rest of the team being over worked.
-if you are late even a second it shows up on your time stamp as late (whether that’s showing up for work or returning from lunch break)
-you get very little training and are expected to be an expert and are reprimanded when you fall short of their expectations
-management is terrible at communicating to each other and to the staff about crucial information (be it sale days, schedules, price changes, etc)
-the rare times the owner comes to the store he walks past everyone without acknowledging our existence. No “hello” or “good morning”. I personally have greeted him several times and have been ignored every single time. The only time I’ve heard him speak is when he is criticizing our work. It’s hard to be positive and work when the owner is constantly looking down on you in that manner.
