Pros

My manager was the best most supportive manager I had ever encountered! Sunovion Pharmaceuticals does not play around! If you meet and or exceed any and all expectations, your career with them will be the best position throughout your entire career l! REALLY!

Cons

Sadly, despite immediately being extremely successful in every way mandated or clearly outlined in several different ways! Due to a completely unexpected personal tragedy, I had to unexpectedly prioritize my daughter over Sunovion Pharmaceuticals and they were not tolerant of what I was unexpectedly having to attend to whatsoever! To the degree that despite from day one overachieving any and all company expectations, I was let go siting, “unfortunately we cannot allow any Company Sales Representative to prioritize any time consuming and extremely distracting circumstances to cause sales representatives of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals unexpected distraction from job performance or duties! And I was immediately the number one Sales and Marketing Representative hired as well as invested into that did not have a prior career history in the pharmaceutical sales industry! And the decision to let me go was while I was the Number One Sales Representative Sunovion Invested quite a bit into to get be to be able to represent their name and history!

Pros

Cannot think of any pro's

Cons

They are in the middle of nowhere, no work from home policy, very poor management with absolutely no leadership ability, less than industry standard pay, definitely not up to speed with the other leading biotechs.

We are sorry you did not have a good experience while working at Sunovion. We are always looking for feedback to improve the working environment. Many employees feel our location is a huge benefit so that they do not have to deal with traffic in Boston & Cambridge. We also have feedback that our pay is very competitive along with our great benefits package. Starting in October, we will be rolling out a work from home policy for our employees. Thank you again for your feedback and good luck in future career.

Pros

Salary/benefits are decent for the industry. Cafeteria is nice. Marlborough location is convenient for Metrowest dwellers. There are many highly competent, motivated and dedicated people at the functional team level. It is a small company so there is some opportunity for your ideas to be heard.

Cons

Failing pipeline, extremely political, parent company is too involved. Political. Lack of sincerity. There is a general lack of business acumen and accountability at the leadership level. Silo mentality is the norm and change is tough to implement. There is a perplexing dichotomy of unrealistic expectations of high performers along with endless willingness to accept mediocrity from low performers who are subservient to the boss. High turnover rate, people leaving in droves throughout the year and not just after bonus time. There is an awareness in the industry that “something’s wrong” at Sunovion, which comes up with recruiters and hiring teams at other companies. There are many highly competent, motivated and dedicated people at the functional team level, so why does that not add up to excellence? Micromanagement with convoluted processes and procedures is rampant along with unwillingness to place trust in those who are highly competent. There is a pattern of preference for incompetent employees who are subservient to the boss. Poor work life balance, no telecommuting policy - something that is standard in many industries now, including biotech/pharma.
