Horrible Place to Work

Pros

It is possible to make okay money. You may meet some cool people working there.

Cons

They do not value their long term employees. When money needs to be cut, they look first to who has been there the longest and lay them off with no warning. For sales people, watch your paychecks. They will try to stiff you by saying the company gets 90 days to pay and "it could come any time" so it may not show up in your check. Super sketchy. They are not good with work-life balance and do not give the benefit of doubt to people in need of time for grief, or otherwise, even unpaid, and even if you've proven your worth over time. If you do need something to improve your skills on the floor, they will string you along until you're so stressed out you quit. I saw it happen tons of times when I was there. They fired two of the best salespeople I've known for some innocuous reasons that could not be explained to the rest of us. If you're a woman, don't even bother. They won't give you the time of day, and you will work three times harder than any man to succeed there, since all the customer service reps feed the "bros" big sales before they even hit the boards. if you try to advance, you will be overlooked for an alpha male. Stay late and find your own book of business, only to have your own coworkers try to steal your work. And that's allowed, and even encouraged, to "keep it competitive." Again- what's good for Strive but not the employee wins. Man or woman, don't work here unless you're looking to use them as much as they use you. This is the epitome of a no-strings-attached relationship - don't misunderstand that.

Pros

It's in the middle of downtown Austin, but that can easily be a con. Im paying way too much for way too little so that i can be close and don't have to drive for hours like other coworkers do.

Cons

They will drop you in a second when work gets slow. We lost 3 out of 5 people who were hired only months ago. I feel real bad for them. There is obviously an in crowd and if your not in then it kind of gets annoying real fast. You work 7-5 that's a 9 hour shift with an hour lunch, so 10 hours a day at wok. Tons of other stuff, don't wast your time I'm looking for a new job as we speak.

Pros

Culture is super laid back and inviting. Great people to work with and lots of great things are on the horizon for Strive. As for benefits, it is fantastic that Strive sponsors 75% of medical and dental insurance and provides free vision insurance. They also sponsor 100% of LTD and Short term disability which is rare. Pretty great that they have everything from life insurance to pet insurance with lots of additional perks.

Cons

The industry can be difficult but rewarding. Sounds like they are working on a 401(k) match.
