Pros

The team, the blue collar people who work hard to make Stihl the number one brand.

Cons

The middle management employees who smile from ear to ear while lies just ooze out and the upper management that promotes the dog eat dog work environment "literally protect your neck" while always reminding you how great Stihl is to you as an employee but employers who treat there people right don't have to say they do, they just do.

Pros

Many years ago, this would have been a 5-star review. Stihl use to offer the best compensation and benefits in Virginia Beach under its administration. Work hard, get rewarded! Upper MGT made employees feel like they were in the Stihl family too.

Cons

In recent years, the executives have made an exerted effort to cap/reduce overall compensation and increase workloads. This has been accomplished be decreasing cost of living raises and bonuses. Bonuses can be “selectively” reduced significantly and capped with no explanation even when asked. They also have not been back filling positions in many cases. Work is then redistributed back to current employees adding 25%-100% load. Employees are not back filled to see if the area can still sustain until it fails. This is happening to all levels of positions and departments with exception of top management. Regardless of workload changes the pressure is high to perform with no appreciation. This in combination with a questionably hostile work environment culture, they are struggling with revolving door retention. Keep in mind almost all recent years have been record high revenue generating and adding 50mil in building campus expansions that is clearly just overhead.
