Pros

I experienced this agency pre-merger (of which nothing remains). Now, in case its not obvious, editorial 'opportunities' include writing false positive reviews on Glassdoor.

Cons

The new owner has reduced this once-credible agency into a husk. At first this may have started out as ineptitude or bureacracy, but now there is no doubt that somebody is trying to put the sad place out of its misery with toxic hires, constructive dismissals and 'redundancies' for jobs still needed. Sadly this plan has not reached the managers responsible for churning out fake positive reviews here to try and draw more victims into the disaster area. (If this seems puzzling welcome to the Sticky experience.)

Pros

When I joined it was great - smart people, really some of the best in the business in terms of strategy and really defined best practice. Was a great place to learn at the time, but very, very different place now...

Cons

Failed to grasp the opportunity - was one of the first content marketing agencies in the UK, before content marketing was even a thing. Now it's a thing and potentially big business, the agency bills itself as a 'social/digital content agency' - all its case studies on its site are from 4-5 yrs ago (the heyday). They failed to grasp the opportunity and rather than embrace tech or get more sophisticated in content marketing, made an about-turn into social content (all very 2009!) - it might excite the board ('oooh social media, I hear that's big these days') but it's gone backwards and doesn't attract the kind of big clients it used to. Could have been a great content marketing agency but no longer the leader it was - the right business in the wrong hands.

Pros

Really good people. They have a knack for hiring good folks and those that don't fit the culture don't stay long. Superb client list. Big blue chips and global brands that look great on a CV / resume. Lots of responsibility. If you like organising all the aspects of your work and you want to combine writing with project management and account management this will suit you.

Cons

Communication is really bad. It's probably worst for the sales team who have to hit sales targets without being told what the products are supposed to be. Plus there's so much turnover there's nobody to learn from. Plans get made and announced but aren't followed through in most cases. Stressed out atmosphere among all the teams, and writers freaking out because they're being pressured by clients and don't have anyone to back them up. Long hours culture but some of that is new people feeling like they have to stay late to show they are committed. Trying to do everything cheaply. It's awkward coming up against other agencies who have big teams and decent tools and you're just there with a laptop that barely works.
