Pros

Honestly, really difficult to come up with something. I don't know, Udemy access? Monthly birthday celebrations with cakes?

Cons

Where to even start? Roam Digital was a company with great culture and work-life balance. Plenty of chapter lunches, talks, workshops and other ways of sharing knowledge. It didn't feel as a workplace, it was more of a geek club where you were motivated to improve just by seeing how good people who surround you are. Working on client projects, while intense at times, was also a way to try out new technologies. You could both earn and learn. Now comes the acquisition. At first nothing changes too much, then suddenly everything goes downhill. Salaries frozen (despite Amdocs showing the previous quarter as the most profitable in the company history EVER) - supposedly to avoid layoffs... and of course there are layoffs very shortly after. They request everyone to get back to the office for at least 3 days a week, just because. Even if you work on international projects, even if you connect via VPN and only deal with clients remotely, you still need to sit in the office like an obedient minion. The vast majority of really skilled people left and found better paid jobs with better culture. More people are likely to follow as soon as the stupid "hybrid work policy" kicks in on January 1st. I mean, why would you want to stay here if anywhere else you get at least 20% more salary and much better working conditions? And you know what's the worst? People stopped even jokingly complain about the company situation. Heck, even the company Slack is a ghost town: in the last week there have been *12* threads on the general chat channel. A few months ago there would be more discussion every day by the time for lunch. We got to the point where no one cares. I'm pretty sure everyone else has sent out at least as many CVs as I have. So as much as I loved being a part of Roam, I honestly feel sick when I think about staying at Stellar Elements. I can no longer "earn" nor "learn" here so it's about time to abandon the sinking ship.

Pros

You get to work on some interesting projects sometimes and the development and design teams are full of great people (although they are all leaving or being laid off).

Cons

Completely out of touch and tone deaf leadership that is stripping away everything that was once good about the amazing companies they acquired. A pay freeze is in place with no end in sight currently and therefore no real growth opportunities are available. Despite the long winded meetings full of fancy words their actions make it seem as though they are doing their absolute best to drive people away. Their promises seem to be just there to keep the loyal ones around just long enough until they can get rid of them.

How to destroy a company 101

Pros

staff are friendly and talented - at least the ones that are left

Cons

Seems like since the acquisition and rebrand, high level management has been working around the clock to drive the company into the ground. The decisions make no sense to me and show a lack of understanding and compassion for the staff. For example, we were meant to be celebrating the launch of the new brand and at the same time they were freezing everyones pay and firing people. Great start... and a great way to get a good reputation... With the reviews here on Glassdoor any client that's looking to work with Stellar Elements that does their due diligence is gonna run for the hills.
