Pros

Pay's better than average, good benefits. Most staff are good people.

Cons

Culture has changed since new leadership took over in 2015. They say the want candor but anyone who speaks out against current management just disappears. Trust is gone. It is replaced by people just pushing buttons to stay employed. The executive management has a love of anyone from the country of India. They outsourced over 90% of IT and it is pushing 40% of the organization as a whole to contract labor. Mistakes by the out sourcer in IT are covered up by associates who don't want to be viewed as whistle blowers or trouble makers. If it does not look like a success an american worker pays the price and is terminated. At the same time they are trying to move their IT to the cloud and it is costing a fortune. They talk about strategy to become relevant in the insurance industry again, but their actions are reactive and chaos in motion. The CIO/Strategy officer has a new nickname: Captain Chaos. He changes his mind like the wind and listens to know one. He believes he knows everything and is always the smartest person in the room. His behavior is knee jerky. Expenses continue to rise and the new "Hail Mary" of an application development project has so many holes in it it resembles Swiss cheese. The concurrent usage is 1/3 of the expectations and the pricing model they are using is still way too expensive compared to the competition. Just wait and see if the executives live up to their "one team" policy when it is bonus time in early 2017. They created a new bonus program that was supposed to be treating everyone fairly, but really has more levels and is more complicated than the prior program. Since the execs get HUGE money from the program they will most likely twist the program and numbers to insure they get theirs. We will see.

Toxic General Counsel

Pros

Great benefits with wonderful work/life balance.

Cons

Where do I begin? -LaRocco is the biggest joke. He says one thing to your face and does another thing behind the scenes. He talks a great talk but doesn't really walk. He fired people left and right based on some white females advised him. -Centers (general counsel) is costing this organization a ton of money and opportunities. She is hated by more than 80% of the company but somehow was appointed as GC recently. -White females are in power. There is a few who have been there forever and they have Larocco wrapped around their fingers. -CFO is also a joke. Very ineffective leader.

Pros

Umm, it pays? And I suppose the pay is somewhat competitive. Oh, and free parking. Pension - gone Bonus for top performers - gone Work environment conducive to work - gone Work Life / Family Balance - gone

Cons

This was a great place to work at one time. Up until a few years ago, no one was ever laid off in the history of the company. Management seemed to care... and listen at times. But, the past is the past, and times move on. Recently... well, I'm not going to list details, but take my advice, friend, if you are looking for a place to work, you don't want this to be it.... keep looking.
