Pros

Name of company. Office is nice. Lots of meeting rooms. Spacious pantry. Walking distance to MRT.

Cons

Have to appease to unreasonable customer. Staff benefits outdated. Look elsewhere.

Pros

- they pay your salary on time - there are a lot of good people here - not much more to add here

Cons

It's really hard to work at this company when you're senior manager level and below. AVP and higher, it's fine because you just blame your direct reports. Most organizations are a pyramid structure with a good foundation, but you can think of this organization like an inverted pyramid. There are more upper management people, than people who actually do the operations. As a bottom feeder, you get constantly blamed by upper management for not doing your job well and project delays. It's really hard to do your job with so many issues. - Teams are operating at a skeleton crew because HR can't hire people who want to work at such a company - Processes are a mess with no documentation, half the time you're working off a shared folder of someone who left before you arrived - Everyone is being tasked with doing a million things

Pros

1) Had the opportunity to work with a micro-managing manager who is a perfectionist without empathy, and even resorted to personal attacks (eg. labelled as self-centered when choosing to have some me-time during lunch on some days). 2) Ganged up upon by own manager and his buddy and being left out to dry. 3) Silo mentality within the company, which makes it hard to get things done. In addition, the industry is a very complicated one which makes things harder to pick up initially. Why did I list those as pros? The above pointers have actually moulded me into a better person one year later, and made me gain clarity on what I wanted in a job. (Actually found a good role after leaving StarHub, and met a very nurturing manager which was the complete opp of what I had in StarHub. Had lots of good career advice from him and gained more clarity on what makes a good finance professional). Hence, if I had not left such a toxic environment in StarHub, I would not have ended up in a better place.

Cons

1) Made a few friends who were my peers there, and was very sad to leave them.
