Pros

Nice People in my team

Cons

Lack of work (few days of work vs several months on the bench), lack of career perspective, lack of professionalism in many aspects of the work and administrative tasks, I can easily say I got more problems than relevant professional experience from Sparta To begin with I joined as experienced Consultant but my role title was revised after I accepted the offer lowering the level from "Senior Delivery Consultant" to "Delivery Consultant" in the actual contract, when I asked for explanations they never gave me a real answer. Later I discovered this was a best practice applied to other lucky candidates. The work was very easy, I believe it suits a newly graduated student with no practical experience and no particular skills. I met many people in the organization that are not stimulated enough so it was not only my impression. The US branch is far away from UK not only geographically, e.g. I had many issues with HR in US and they were never supportive and helpful. One advice, if you're a professional who loves using your brain and loves challenges, think twice most probably you deserve a much better job.

Pros

Sparta's a small company. You end up knowing most people throughout various departments. People are friendly and approachable, helpful and kind for the most part.

Cons

Sparta lacks any form of vision or plan, but they call it "agile". This isn't a new problem, the entire time I've been there it's a series of priority changes (abrupt changes to the entire roadmap) and listening to the loudest customer yelling. There's too much emphasis on trying to not upset some individuals in favor of doing the right thing, which leads to problems for those impacted. Not all departments operate like partners. Customer Support tends to throw things over the wall to R&D to deal with, without getting information from customers about what is not working properly, or what they're expecting. Customer Success tends to build strong relationships within both R&D and our Customers to help fix those problems though.

Pros

Great opportunity to sharpen skills and work with great people. Have enjoyed working for the company and located in Hamilton NJ.

Cons

Can become monotonous at times working with clients on the same issues day in and day out. I know we are all busy during the day but tier 2 needs to work on how they speak to managed employees.
