In my sector, the middle management are stagnant and will only take knee-jerk reactions when upper-management requires something. There are gaping holes within the internal service delivery that are a running joke to all employees.
The level of company communication is appalling, everything remains a secret until the day it happens. I moved desk about 3 or 4 times without any prior warning. The head office downstairs remained empty for about a year leaving people to speculate.
Many complaints were made to upper-management about the morale of certain teams and individuals and certain members of the middle management, all of which were totally ignored. There is no level of expectation or accountability for the people who are employed to be the manager of a team of people. This left people feeling very undervalued and allowed the internal service delivery to remain so poor.
In my role I oversaw a disciplinary for who's actions in any right company would have had this individual instantly dismissed, in Space Engineering that person was allowed to continue their employment despite their act of Gross Misconduct.
