Pros

The office is located in Little Italy, with plenty of restaurants and open spaces to exercise. It's also geographically inconvenient for nearly everyone, has next to no parking and doesn't even have an adequate number of bathrooms. My coworkers were nice, but see below.

Cons

This place is quite conflict-adverse so there's a ton of group-think. Well at least until they kick you out of the group. What they don't tell you about is the high turnover. Most new employees don't make it to their second anniversary. Not a single member of my "cohort," whether they were in sales, marketing, content or customer service are still with the company (gone within a year). When it is time to cut costs, seniority stays, and newer employees are discarded. There is nothing special, innovative or disruptive about what they do. Yet they keep masquerading as a tech company. They prioritize superficial perks and trappings over things like a decent salary, job stability and a reasonable commute. They have changed their "business model" multiple times, which is why I brought up cutting costs.

Pros

Fantastic coworkers and supportive upper management.

Cons

I was placed on an aggressive 2 week action plan due to under performing in a new role. During this time the director I reported to was not responding to private messages or accepting my calls to grant the appropriate permissions or answer questions to complete these tasks. This lack of communication resulted in my termination since the action plan couldn't be completed. This is the kind of leadership you can expect from SolidProfessor and I can provide screenshots and transcripts to prove the validity of this statement.

Pros

Snacks, free coffee and occasional lunch

Cons

For anyone thinking about working at SolidProfessor run. The veneer of a laid back fun workplace hides a litany of issues. During my time at SolidProfessor I experienced constant conflict within departments. Not only was this tolerated it was encouraged by upper management. Certain employees have been working there many years and get away with contributing nothing at all. Expectations are vague at best and when inevitably missed there is retribution from management. The leadership at SolidProfessor are clueless on creating a safe, productive workplace. Salaries are well below market rate and benefits are poor. Overall I would not recommend anyone waist their time applying or working at this toxic company.
