Pros

- WFH 3 days a week - Wellness Payment - Health Insurance discounts

Cons

- Poor management who hire external managers/leaders that have no idea about the products and no initiative on learning - Poor exec management mostly focus on bottom line than the actual customers or staff engagement - Poor systems, bad website and app (8 years out of date) which causes a lot of customer complaints and frustrations. - Constant engagement surveys with a lot of talk and absolutely no action which causes the same issues to be raised year after year - Toxic work environment that rewards hard work or going "Above & Beyond" with more work and more expectations and no actual rewards - Management seem to foster bad management rather than performance manage - Whether you have been there for 10mins or 10 years you don't matter. After 10 and a half years I left the company, no card, no farewell, no anything. You will never matter at this company either work there to pay your bills and never exert yourself or just leave. This isn't a place to build a future, career or life. It's a stepping stone to find better. No matter who you are YOU DESERVE BETTER!

Pros

Working from home was great. Nothing really else to say

Cons

Started in a Sales role. Never earned a cent in commission. Management practices are questionable to say the least. Had 4 Team leaders in a year. Enough said. Massive demotivation within the Sales Team. Training is a joke. Had a recruiter call me up saying she's cleaning up with ex disgruntled sales staff that feel they have been totally screwed over. At one point it got so bad I would rather have been cleaning toilets than working here.

Pros

Some very talented people work at Smartgroup. They have a great work ethic and care about their staff and peers.

Cons

Unfortunately there are more cons now, then there were 12-24 months ago. The CEO ( formerly CFO) is a nice guy and has a strategy to see the company out of the current macro challenges, whether the strategy will deliver results, time will tell. However, for some reason there is revolving door regarding EMT members over the last 12-24 months, I count 8 resignations/ firings. So there is something going on at Exec management level that is really holding this company back in terms of real direction. The result of this heavy turnover of Exec team has stifled any real product innovation and system enhancements that is required to really improve the customer experience for our awesome clients and their employees. Also training for new staff is really poor at Smartgroup- this is not an opinion, it’s an absolute fact.
