Leadership issues diminish morale and retention

Pros

Slipstream has many talented people who are dedicated to accelerating climate solutions for everyone. They care about their roles and each other. The company also offers decent salaries and benefits.

Cons

Leadership is the primary weakness at Slipstream. There is a persistent lack of clear direction and accountability at the executive level. Priorities shift frequently without strategy or adequate communication, leaving teams to absorb the fallout. Decisions are often made top-down with little understanding of operational realities, resulting in staff burnout and disengagement. Recent layoffs and other departures underscore the absence of strategic, compassionate leadership. While Slipstream frequently emphasizes company values and employee feedback, those messages are not consistently reflected in executive actions. Concerns and suggestions shared with the CEO rarely lead to meaningful change, resulting in a culture of low trust. Strong individual contributors do their best to compensate, but the current executive team ultimately limits growth, morale, and retention.

Pros

I have never worked for an organization that has so many compassionate employees who care about causes and people other than themselves. Slipstream is a mission-based organization that is working very hard towards decarbonizing the energy industry. I love that I work for a company that cares about future generations and that cares about making an impact in the world.

Cons

There are still some technology kinks to work out as a result of the merger but nothing that cannot be overcome in the near future. I know our IT team has worked diligently and tirelessly to make life better for every employee.
