Pros

High tech company, good people, colleagues, good for some time , around 2 years, to learn new stuff, but after that one should move on.

Cons

Although you are employed by microsoft, the only tech areas you can work on in Sthlm, sweden is skype . So not much career developement path for guys in sweden.

Pros

compensation, work atmosphere, attitude, friendly climate, flexible working hours. Lower management actually knows what they are doing.

Cons

You can survive here quite long without too much effort if you want, too much time and effort is spent on bureaucracy and politics. Too big emphasis in test on numbers and metrics - trying to compare incomparable things, or thing where comparing simple numbers does not make much sense.

Pros

+ If you're a free spirit, you'll love the Skype culture, in and out of work + Pay, bonuses and benefits are top notch, at least for Prague (CZ) + The work community is very friendly. You'll feel very cozy + Very undemanding work conditions. Possibilities to work from home, no pressure on how much time you spend at work if you deliver at the end of sprints + Working with top notch technologies and hardware, especially if you're working on the backend side + Fair review system, based on performance and peer feedback

Cons

- Politics, politics, politics. Projects come and go, and you'll rarely get too attached to a specific project - Different parts of management seem to have different views on how we should achieve our vision - "Skype" management and "Microsoft" management often have very different opinions. Unfortunately, their battlefield are the hard-working employees - (Very) Hard life if you're unlucky enough to still have to work with old (legacy) components which are cryptic, unstable and very hard to grasp for newcomers. Same if you're working on the parts which need "backwards compatibility", like features depending on Peer-to-peer or old proprietary protocols - Catastrophic tentative to mix up Agile development with our slow product evolution. Meetings and Agile processes are a massive productivity killer
