Pros

Flexibility of schedule. Access to an extensive clientele list.

Cons

The starting pay is miserable. And you have to spend a lot of money on buying your own supplies. There are also a lot of unpaid mandatory meetings that you have to attend.

Pros

I worked with some amazing families in NYC and I liked that I was able to make and change my availability. The company is somewhat structured.

Cons

Sitters Studio will schedule anytime within your availability, including directly after you have worked an early 8 hour shift (and they will sometimes only give you 1.5 hour notice). If another sitter is a no-show and you're listed as available they expect you (no excuses) to cover for the missing sitter immediately. Really unrealistic expectations for sitters being payed extremely low. Sitters have a to pay for all supplies for required art projects on top of not being paid well.
