Pros

Friendly atmosphere and coworkers are very helpful. Great place to learn and get your career started if you're a new grad. You'll get to experience the full development cycle and they also offer a C++ course every 4 months when new co-ops start.

Cons

Everything has been going downhill since Magnitude has bought the company. All the key people who made Simba successful have resigned. They've never paid a bonus and they cut our budget for social activities. We also barely missed the profit goal for the year and because of it they delayed our salary reviews and froze all expenses for 4 months to make the investors happy. Salaries are already low to begin with and the benefits are some of the worst in Vancouver. They don't even provide MSP.

Pros

Free lunch 2 times a week. Social activities (10-15% participation shows how are these perceived)

Cons

Brain drain in the last 2 years has left the technology in shambles. The company has lost almost all the ambitious, driven, and talented people ever since Magnitude acquired it. The managers are clumsy, senior NON-leadership is working exceptionally hard to negotiate their packages from Mag execs. It used to be a really good place for early career and fresh grads but not any more. A lack of direction and missing career progression means you are stuck in the rut. The company is not open about its working and the culture of secrecy, mistrust, an d politics has engulfed the organization. The CTO has no vision, and connectivity GM is in the dark about how bad things are. Magnitude is an investment firm that acquires software companies and makes profit off of them.
