Pros

not stuck in an office all day, change of pace from day to day, office with a view

Cons

terrible, terrible, terrible upper management. wanted to give them half a star but glassdoor does not offer one. could never pay his employees on time, often hires people with not so great backgrounds. constant mess of projects always behind financially and with equipment.

Pros

Decent pay compared to other AV companies. Lots of opportunity for overtime that's what you're looking for.

Cons

Hours and management. The office is in a terrible location compared to where most of the clients are, so actual on site time is limited due to travel time. If the lead tech decides they want to work late on day, guess what? You're stuck there until whenever they want to leave. 10 hours days are considered "getting off on time." You are expected to be at the office at 7:15 am and most of the morning time is spent waiting for management to figure out where everyone is going. They send out emails and have a physical schedule in the office, but it is almost always inaccurate and conflicting. At the last minute they may decide to send you out to Houston, which means getting back around 9pm. The project manager will decide to have mandatory Saturday work at 11am on Friday, and you will get written up for not showing up. The install department is very understaffed. There is a lot of turnover and they cannot find anyone that wants to work for them. An experienced tech was hired and driven away by management's incompetence and indecision after one day. We only had 6 or 7 techs for the majority of the time I worked there. The management is very nit-picky and not appreciative of the work the techs put it. You can work 60 hours in a week, but you leave one coffee cup in your van, someone will take a picture of it and email it to the entire company. You will get chewed out if the leave the job site for 5 minutes without your work area being completely spotless. The owner will buy tacos for the office in the morning, but get angry when a tech tries to take one. The project manager will regular stop for breakfast in a company truck on the clock, but you will get in trouble for stopping at a gas station for water in the morning. Overall, the only redeeming quality of this job that the other techs are pretty cool most of the time and sometimes you will be able to get free or discounted AV equipment. The only way I'd recommend this job to someone is if it was the only thing they had experience in and were willing to work lots of overtime and travel.

DO NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELF

Pros

There are no pros to this company what so ever. He will use you until he goes bankrupt again and let everyone go like he just did this past year.

Cons

The company is absolutely horrible to its employees. It's on the verge of bankruptcy at all times and if you love lying through your teeth to clients all day then this is perfect for you. The CEO in particular will treat you like a body and dispose of you the second he doesn't need you anymore. We got CONSTANT late paychecks and bounced paychecks. For the love of Jesus, do not work for them.
